I did not see the game due to the hurricane. Saw the score and press clippings as well as our BBI freak out. I just finished watching the 10 minute highlight reel and did not realize we held Dallas to 3 points in the second half. Was that more of Dallas trying to control the ball and run the game down or were we stout throughout the game?
They got no takeaways, either. But they at least looked formidable. Snacks is still a beast. Jackrabbit is still Jackrabbit. Goodson shone. But Witten was still Witten, El
D did alright, not stifling, but good. JPP caused a lot of havoc, Snacks disrupted shit, and Goodson was all over the place. Vernon got some pressure but was contained by Smith. Prescott moved well. Nothing surprising about Dallas' offense, about what was to be expected. Who knows what might have been if the Giants could have scored a TD or two. Defense with more rest, more motivation to close the gap, they didnt have much momentum to feed off of.
Thats the state of things.
We 'may have seen a few more drives like the one we put together in the beginning of the third quarter if the defense was ever able to get off the field.
This isn't to say they were bad. I was expecting a lot more.
Held Dallas to under 20. Held Zeke to 104 yards. More then I'd like but considering the TOP Dallas had the ball for. D was fine.

I think the Giants were surprised that Dallas went no huddle so much ,that is something that they have not done in the past and it helped wear down our defense and in turn took away our no huddle offense because now we had to allow or defense to rest by slowing the pace on offense.
adjustments like they spotted some tendencies .
DRC was kept on the run all night and LC made no impact .
Apple was terrible and Thompson looked lost and I am gonna say this right now I wanted a fast rangy hitter at FS
Thompson is none of these . When the Cowboys pulled left it looked like they had nine O-linemen coming . Goodson made some great stops he was an animal out there . Bromley 1 tackle Dalvin Tomlinson a quiet 4 tackles . Kennard virtually invisible 3 assist ...

The Cowboys scored 19 points and were lucky to get their only TD. 19 points is tied for the fewest points the Cowboys have scored at home with Dak Prescott, which was also by the Giants in last season's opener.
They weren't the '85 Bears, but there's a good chance that's the fewest points Dallas scores this season at home.
I think he might've challenged it, but the camera angle wasn't straight. He didn't make it to the yellow line, but it probably wouldn't have been overturned. Also, just like in last season's 2nd game, Garrett might've gone for it anyway.
Agreed it was big especially when you look at the field position situation.
