Stop with the over reactions!

JohnB : 9/12/2017 12:13 pm
I know this is BBI but if you've been a Giants fan any length of time, you know these types of games are bound to happen. On the road, against the defending NFC East Champ, opening game and their best player (and one of the best players in the NFL) wasn't playing. What did you expect?

They had a bad night, an off night. so what? Eli stunk. So what? He'll improve. The first 7 games of the schedule is VERY tough, assume the Giants are going to have a losing record at the Bye. Live with it. A .500 record has a team in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Don't fire McAdoo. Don't put Reese "on notice". This is a long season. Enjoy it.

Stop with the over reaction.

But then again, this is BBI so what do I expect? lol
.500 Record at the bye?

You are an optimist.
Oh I see

.500 for the season and a playoff birth?

Yeah...nope.
yes, giants offense went against a very good stout dallas defense
micky : 9/12/2017 12:19 pm : link
not many teams are going to move the ball vs them. Giants should have it easier monday night....
There are some overreaction (see the Will Tye thread)

but some of the angst/worry/anger are well suited. This isn't just a bad performance. It's a continuing issue that hasn't been adequately addressed over 2 offseasons. Banking on 3 as-to-date below average players (Flowers, Jerry, Hart) to suddenly improve and protect an immobile, aging, and quite possibly gun shy QB is a risky plan. And the early returns suggest the obvious-it's gonna blow up in their faces.
This isn;t just this 1 game

This goes back to last year with how badly our offense looked. Its not just on Eli, the O-Line, or Macadoo. Its a combination of all 3. But I think Macadoo should get the most blame because he is the coach and is calling/designing the plays that are failing
It comes with the frustration of seeing the

same shit year after year, and the front office doing little to change it. Although, I do admit this was a bad off-season to be looking for OL help.
I will not stop overreacting

We are Doomed!!! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED
Bench Eli!

Start Geno!
How many of you lived through the 1st two games of 2007?
JohnB : 9/12/2017 1:10 pm : link
How'd that turn out?

Just saying, don't over react.

Stout Dallas D?

They aren't supposed to be good at all this year. I wonder if this actually may be the case.

They are not Seattle or Minnesota, and that's what it looked like. They are very poor in executing blocking assignments and look athletically overmatched at several positions along he OL.

Please read what I posted not what you think I posted.

I said "in the hunt" for a playoff spot. One or two wins over .500 can net a team a playoff spot. Agreed?

Watch the crying if they did bench Eli.

What would be the over under on games played with 0 offensive touchdowns?
The McAdoo era has yet to produce a game with over 30 pts scored...
x meadowlander : 9/12/2017 1:23 pm : link
...on offense.

THAT alone is reason for concern.

I'm an eternal optimist. But I've been a Giant fan since Jimmy Carter was President and I've seen enough to know what deserves strong reactions.

More than anything else, the O-line was the cause of the offensive woes. Adding Tight Ends and a Fullback is nice, but it doesn't fix the core of the problem.

I'm certainly not advocating firing anyone. But people have a right to bitch. The Giants are an entertainment industry - we are not entertained by that opener. :)

Reminded me of that the Vikings game last yr where they got massacred on Monday night. They won 9 of 12 games after that.

Most of the people on this board are over the age of 60. It's just a bunch of old people who learned how to use the internet and all they have left in life it to bitch and moan about something.

Why else do you keep seeing posts about how great it was with YA Tittle
Stop with the overreacting to people rightly being frustrated.

Did you not watch this offense last season? It's not a new offense. One season later, and they still suck something terrible. It's VERY concerning.

How short of an attention span do some people have? Get your head out of your ass.

But I heard on BBI that Mac is an offensive genius. (;>
The offensive line is not good
joeinpa : 9/12/2017 2:31 pm : link
This particular group has never been good.

If they don't get better, the Giants will not be even close to a contender.

Do you have a lot of confidence that they are going to get better?

If you answer yes, good for you, but I would ask, What is that based on.

They might not be better but went 11-5 last year with the same group. Why the concern if they can repeat that 11-5?
Looking on the bright side,

If you re still a Giants fan in 50 years. Will you still be talking about how great Eli was.

By the way Y A was great.

And trust me. Most people over 60 aren't bitching about the Giants because they ve got nothing else going on.

They re bitching about the Giants because sports is a great diversion from what they ve got going on

You need to learn to respect your elders young fellow:)
