One of the big improvements from last was season supposed to be replacing Cruz with Marshall. Let's see how that has worked out.
Game 1 last season Cruz caught the game winning touchdown pass. Eli said it was a broken play, but Cruz with his experience made it work.
Game 1 this season Marshall did nothing.
Game 2 last season Cruz caught a contested pass (after an easy drop by OBJ) that allowed the Giants to milk the clock, and then kick the game winning field goal as time expired.
Game 2 this season Marshall did a little, but not much.
For the rest of the season, Cruz did very little, but we cannot take away that he was a huge factor in their going 2-0.
Game 3 this season Marshall had a huge drop.
Game 4 this season Marshall again had a huge drop.
We obviously do not know how Marshall will play in games 5-16, but given what he has shown so far, does anyone expect him to contribute as much as Cruz did those first tow games?
Hopefully, though, BM can help us. If the team doesn't improve, though, he will be gone.
Shepard is running those routes with definition and courage . To me, he seems faster than last season. I was shocked that Jenkins couldn't catch him from behind .
As far as Engram, he's definitely a good receiver. But the 40 time means nothing unless he starts running verticals . Last week we watched Harvard best Alabama on a vertical to end the game.
Having said that, you forgot to include the HUGE drop BM had in the Detroit game as well. Would have gone for at least a 30 yard gain at a point where the Giants were working their way back into that game. It subsequently led to Wing outkicking the punt coverage (debatable) and the Lions PR taking it back to the house to effectively end the game.
Agreed. But at this point, it might have been smarter to keep King instead of signing Marshall. King of course is still a FA, but he'd be cheaper, and plays ST. The money for Marshall and Ellison should have gone to Whitworth. That of course wouldn't help the defense, which is also a disaster.
So correct me if I'm wrong? But did the season end already? Or are there 12 more games to play? Victor had 15 games last year, he managed 39 catches for 586 and 1 score. That's no bueno. Why don't we give Marshall a little more time. He is not solely responsible or even a big reason why the offense hasn't been very good, and these are only his first 4 games working with Eli. Cruz had plenty of time, he's done, he may catch on somewhere else at some point but not here.

I conceded that Cruz did basically nothing after game 2, but my point was he was a huge contributor in the first 2 wins. My point was that Marshall was supposed to be a huge improvement, but I don't see it. He has made plays that were instrumental in losses. I would be surprised if in the remaining games he contributes greatly to two wins.
I did not say that they should have kept Cruz, just that Marshall has not been the large improvement that was predicted. The money could have gone somewhere else.
He stinks.
Don t think he has hit his groove yet
