Head Coach Ben McAdoo

October 5, 2017

Q: Is it a bad reflection on you as a head coach and play-caller that defenders are telling Odell that they know what your team is doing on offense?

Q: How do feel about Odell making this information public and will you speak to him about it?

A: Your interpretation of what Odell said and mine are entirely different.

Teams do a good job scouting the opponent. That’s a part of gamesmanship. We have things to counteract it, and it paid off for us in the game. Every defensive back thinks they know what you're running until they don't. Unfortunately, we didn’t win the game.

There is no defense for the perfect throw and the good route. I think if we do what we’re supposed to do from an execution standpoint and the throw is on time and where it’s supposed to be, we should be able to complete the ball. And we are one broken tackle away from taking one to the house, especially when Odell is the receiver.

Q: Odell walked off the field with trainers as we were leaving practice. Did he re-aggravate one of his injuries? Did he return to practice?

A: It looked like he was cramping, but I’ll have to go in and check out and see what the final word is.

Q: Did he return to practice?

A: He did not return.

Q: Is JPP (Jason Pierre-Paul) making enough progress where you think he can play on Sunday?

A: We have practice on Saturday. We’ll take a look at him and see how he progresses through the week. It’s too early to tell.

Q: Why did you eliminate the music from practice?

A: I didn’t eliminate the music from practice.

Q: I guess there were periods that previously had music that did not today.

A: We structured practice a little bit differently with when we do and when we don’t play music. During periods where there are fundamental emphasis and team emphasis as far as the scheme and getting the details right, we cut the music so our focus and concentration can go up, and we will re-introduce it later in the week.
Like with emails and texts, it's tough to read

tone or tone of voice, but to me, this presser did not have a great tone to it.

Very little to say. Mac seems down and out honestly.

You are projecting. Mac was as succinct as he always is.
That's it?

I look at other teams formations and plays and

they use imagination. They change things up. I'm watching the Bucs and Patriots for example. You never know what's coming. especially the Patriots with their passing plays. They make their pics legal and their formations confusing. Giants seem to be plain Jane stuck in that 11 man formation. I believe Bucs new what Giants were doing. And that's the way Odell meant it. Ben is covering his lack of imagination ass by saying his interpretation of what Odell said was different from the press. He can't be that stupid. Odell meant what Odell said. And it's pretty easy to understand.
is he throwing Eli under the bus again?

No his receivers. He's saying the throw is there they need to catch the ball.

Yes he is throwing Eli under the bus again. This guy is unbelievable! He’s saying that all the players need to do is to execute perfectly on every play and the plays will work. By the way McAdoo runs the same 5 plays over and over you would actually think the players would be better at executing. Unless maybe, the plays aren’t very good?
Man, the music thing is awesome...

explains a lot! As a teacher I've looked into the research on music quite a bit. Bottom line is that music has a positive influence on production, but many cannot learn new things while listening to music.

I honestly think this explains a lot about what's been wrong with the Giants ability to execute. They were trying to teach and provide corrections while the players were listening to tunes. Always a mistake.

Okay, this gives me a little more reason to hope that there could be improvement toward consistency going forward. This explains so much to me.
