Stopping the clock with 2:03 lets the Patriots do what they want on 3rd and 8. Letting the clock run forces the Patriots to think a lot harder about throwing the ball to avoid gifting the Bucs a free timeout.
is the guy had a pretty good year last year and is on his way to a pretty good year this year. He had 8 scores last season, 6 in his last 9 games, and already has 3 in 4 games this year. So he has 9 TD's in his last 13 games. He's a good player, we didn't turn Cameron Brate into Tony Gonzalez, but he's far, very far, from being a schlub or some JAG playing TE for the Bucs. He's a legitimately good player.
Why use last timeout with 3 secs till 2 minute warning? That timeout is better used after the 2 min warning.
You still have two stops left in your pocket. Also, stopping before the two minute warning you still have a coaches challenge if needed.
But here's the bad thing. You give the other team a run or pass option, as they aren't concerned about stopping the clock with an incompletion........clock is going to stop anyway with the warning.
And what did the Pats do...they threw it. Now, they didn't get positive yardage or a first down, but passing is their strength and the Bucs allowed them that opportunity.
Not sure what the coaches challenge gives you, it's still reviewed in the booth, and they probably are going to look at just about anything, which lets the coach off the hook.
Good thing you're not a coach....
A better throw and the Bucs are taking that one into the tunnel.
Since when does a team run a 2 second play before the tmw on purpose trying to run out the clock? Haha. Holy shit.
Or...crazy wild theory here, Brate is actually a good player.
I guess you tuned in for the final couple plays. He dropped an easy touchdown earlier in the quarter and had another critical drop on another 4q drop.
Was he a college buddy? I'm otherwise not understanding the fellatio

But of course, he sucks. You know, all the linebackers and safeties on the Patriots must suck so bad to allow Cameron Brate to score.

I think he's referencing last week's game thread, where a few were insinuating that we turned some schlub into Tony Gonzalez.
The thing to remember here is the Patriots aren't exactly some defensive powerhouse to try to measure up against.
We kept him employed til tonight.
Generous to a fault we are.
