To climb the impossible mountain and finally get a W? Do they have what it takes to beat another 0-4 team? They got this...right? I don't know this is a pretty tall order for this Giants team. I do not know if they can handle or not.
Wow nothing like starting a thread on October 7th asking if "we" can finally get our first win against another 0-4 from a WC team at 1 pm. I was hesitant to ask...
This is becoming Rich Kotite-like.
Gooooo Giants!!!
At least we get to see Eli & Philip. They each could easily throw 4 TDs or 4 picks. And in either case end up winning or having a brilliant 4th or comeback after crap up to then
Given it's 0-4 SD, I'm hoping we don't look like a terrible team or make them look like a great one. Then again a higher pick isn't a bad thing. So it's a win-win..........................
The defense has played far below its talent level and that has led to losses in the type of games they won last season. With last year's D, this team could easily be 3-1.
I think the defense will eventually come around. But the problem is that OL has bad players. Pugh is decent (not great) and everyone else sucks. So it is a bottleneck. If Eli and the receivers had even an average amount of time, they would eviscerate opposing defenses. Engram is the real deal and even with Marshall's decline, this receiving corps is lethal.
But they can't fully utilize that talent because the OL is so bad. Wasting 4 million in cap space on BJ Thomas and not using that money plus the other 10 million they have was an epic blunder that could very well bring down the coach and gm.
But I think those were organizational decisions, not decisions made solely or even primarily be Reese. So firing Reese might appease some fans but I doubt it will have much effect unless Giants bring in an outside GM and give him autonomy--which I think is highly doubtful
You do know that talent on the offensive line counts, Right?
It s nearly impossible to have a good team if this unit week after week can t move people off the ball.
Add a defense where the front four can t rush the passer, the linebackers can t cover, their #1 draft cornerback can t make a play on the ball, and as a whole they can t stop the run, you are lucky to win any game.
Oh I almost forgot , a special teams that never makes a big play, but often makes a. It mistake.
And the Giants!
One underlying issue that makes it worse is that NOBODY...even KC or NE... looks dominant. A 2-2 in THIS season would put us in the mix at least and get guys to play from a positive and hopeful perspective and likely kick their game up a notch or more.
The Gmen lost 4 winnable games. Opponents won TOP but nobody blew us out.
The O let us down game 1.
The ST made a game changing club game 2.
Everybody flubbed some in games 3-4...but particularly punter and HC HC HC(repeating INTENTIONAL).
And if a certain GM had made the necessary offseason moves to the OL...the O would have been productive enough to get TOP to at least 30 minutes...given D opportunity to rest...produced points... overcome poor HCing....and win 4.
Inside of being the joke of the NFL they'd be the talk of the NFL.

Oh, he's beaten the Giants a few times.
Keep my eye on the Ingram vs Flowers match-up .
Flowers struggles with speed rushers .
He is a FA next season I think he would look good in Blue
but I really have yet to see him play .

Would love to see the Giants make a run at the Super Bowl, but short of that I'd like to see them bring in a whole new coaching staff next year. The worst thing in my mind would be an 8-8 season that leads them to believe they are headed in the right direction.
When others on BBI were praising McAdoo and Spags following the 11-5 season I held my tongue because I didn't want to be a party pooper, but neither of them impressed me. McAdoo is the king of cliches and Spags is the coach's version of a JAG. And the position coaches haven't exactly distinguished themselves when it comes to talent development.

Eli has beaten the Giants many times in his career . Just not in another uniform.
Made it again. Wucha gonna do about it. Huh huh...
You have what some characterized as one of the best defenses going into the season and for some reason they appear to have come undone. Was it a matter of futility that had set in watching an inept offense those first two games the led them have an epic let down these past two weeks thinking here we go again. Last season the offense was bad and this year it’s even worse which led to the shoddy defensive play knowing it was all on them again.
With all that said it’s hard to believe this team is 0-4. You would have thought they would have won at least two of these games by default simply because the talent is there and this is the NFL. The ball takes funny bounces and you win some you probably should have lost and visa versa. But what is worrisome sometimes teams no matter how good the talent on paper is just does not gel no matter how hard they try and the season goes down the drain. That is what appears theGiants are on the verge of. Season down the drain if it hasn’t already been flushed.
With the up coming schedule I just think it will be very difficult if not impossible to have any kind of meaningful outcome to this season. They aren’t playing well. It’s like they are still in preseason mode trying to figure this thing out while most every other team is going full bore regular season mode.
