could be very interesting

Haha, not even geographical at all - for whatever reason, they were the CFB team I watched more than any other when I was younger so they kind of just became my team by default. Some point during the DuBose era I guess. I actually loved Shaun Alexander and really wanted NYG to draft him.

They're basically a cheat code now since Saban has been here but I'm not exactly pissed about it after the absolute disaster every other team I root for has been.

I'm not on the same level with them as I am with the Giants/Rangers/Mets but seem to be the only functioning franchise I root for these days.
That's cool arc
B in ALB : 10/7/2017 8:15 pm : link
I can dig it. Pretty awesome team to root for. I'm a huge bama hater after what they did to UAB. Before that I really enjoyed watching them play.
I love Alabama too!
BigBlueShock : 10/7/2017 8:15 pm : link
Always have. Been a lifelong Kentucky fan in basketball. Golden State has always been my team in the NBA and I sure love me some Cubbies in baseball! All my years of misery rooting for my favorite teams is finally paying off!

Haha, just busting your chops, arc! I think? At least one of your teams is doing well. Every single one of mine is a dumpster fire except the Yanks, and they've managed to pull my guts out in the past 24 hours too.
.
arcarsenal : 10/7/2017 8:21 pm : link
LOL, you guys know I'm a Mets fan... so no one can ever accuse me of front running.

What a fucking disaster that team is.

Oh, and the Knicks too! I actually forget that basketball is a sport sometimes because the Knicks have been an absolute joke for so long.

Yay sports!

I wouldn't call myself an Alabama fan
Greg from LI : 10/7/2017 9:16 pm : link
But I do follow them, as my wife is a big Crimson Tide fan. I also like the brand of football they play - power football on both sides of the ball. Reminds me a bit of the Parcells Giants, who I so loved.

Yeah, they have an actual identity. It's nice to watch.

I love the backs on the roster right now. Damien Harris and Bo complement each other so well. The other Harris kid is pretty good and even Josh Jacobs looks good.

I've said it in other threads, but I bet Tua will be a better QB than Hurts when his time comes.

Lost two LB'ers for the year against FSU and Hand sprained his MCL last week but I guess when you have so many 5-star recruits, you can sustain those types of injuries.

Ridley is going to be a good pro too. They have a bunch of kids on this team who will be impact players in the NFL.
Raining pretty heavily in Ann Arbor

so weather a big factor there
Weather hurts Michigan big time
dpinzow : 10/7/2017 10:29 pm : link
O'Korn fumbles the snap, has to scramble and throws a pick
MSU also stopped by the weather
dpinzow : 10/7/2017 10:33 pm : link
Lewerke fumbles the snap on 4th and 2 and falls on it...turnover on downs after the pick
O'Korn throws another pick

Michigan 5 turnovers, Michigan St. none. Amazing that the score is 14-10
they missed the roughing the passer earlier
MookGiants : 10/7/2017 10:40 pm : link
but that's disgraceful to call a flag on Michigan States bench there, unless the first replay somehow isn't showing something

Cuse should be 5-1.

I was in BR a couple weeks ago and they shit the bed. That was a very winnable game. They outplayed LSU.

Hell, they had a chance to beat NCS last week on the road.

The Middle TN loss will haunt them.

Wisconsin at Nebraska
yalebowl : 10/7/2017 10:54 pm : link
Definetly, a demonstration that a running game depends on having an Offensive Line. Three different running backs running hard behind their line. Wisconsin lead running back, Taylor, has 230+ yards late in the fourth quarter.
considering how there

Brutal loss. Michigan State looked awful against ND and didn't play anyone decent besides ND entering this game

I wonder how Wisconsin stacks up with OSU or PSU in a potential B1G championship game. I don't think they'd beat either but they look good so far in 2017
Wisconsin

Maybe not dominate, but PSU would be favored. Northwestern was tied with Wisconsin at Camp Randall in the 4th quarter; PSU beat them without a sweat
My mistake

Northwestern was down 31-24, not tied (just looked up the boxscore)

They played PSU last year and should have won that game. They were up 21 points at the half.

Wonder when people are going to respect Wisconsin the way they should. 5th most wins in the country over the last 5 years.

It could, but Miami barely beat a team with a true freshman QB with little preseason practice time, a crappy offensive line and a HC playing ultraconservative to physically protect the underbuilt QB.

BTW, Miami WR Berrios is an Edellman clone. Stocky, quick hard nosed player. I think he has a chance to make it. He pushes off a little too much and likely gets called in the NFL. But kid is a gamer.

I agree, that's the biggest concern. Losing Watt was a huge blow. Jacobs is very good, but not quite on the same level.

Horni I think will be fine. Just have to figure out where he lands on the Stave-Tolzien spectrum.

This year it is, sure, but last year they played LSU, MSU, Michigan, PSU and OSU, and still won the Cotton Bowl. And yet people still think they're going to get blown out by PSU and OSU etc.

I think people respect Wisconsin, and I agree they may be a bit underrated,, but people have to see them go out and beat the big boys before putting them on that level. Their out of conference schedule is typically a joke and they don't play Ohio State and Michigan most years in conference. They had a chance to make a statement last year and lost both games last year and lost both games. They also lost to Penn State

quickly. Plethora of running backs, strong defense and only Florida and Auburn in their way before the inevitable match-up with Alabama.

Dawg' fans have seen this setup before only to be disappointed, but this team seems different to me...
Really liking this Irish team.

Regarding the Georgia Bulldogs
gmenrule : 10/8/2017 12:39 pm : link
Since my daughter is now a freshman at UGA, I have had to learn a lot about the football team. Kirby Smart the head coach (who once was Alabama's defensive coordinator)is building the Dawgs team the same way Alabama does. Get high quality athletes in droves and then constantly substitute - especially on D-line. UGA just got commitment from the #1 prospect in the country (QB Justin Fields). That makes 3 straight years they got a 5 star QB. They will be the envy of college football. Also, they got commitment from the #1 RB in high school (Zamir White) for next year. The number of 4 and 5 star prospects considering UGA is rivaling Alabama now. Some are starting to pick UGA over Alabama because of better academics as well. UGA is small on OL but is getting commitment from a massive 5 star OT from IMG academy. Once they build up their OL a little more, and get more depth at CB, they will be able to challenge Alabama on a yearly basis. I see that happening over the next 2-3 years. I just hope to see UGA play Alabama in the SEC championship game THIS year. Then we will see how much ground the Dawg's have to make up.
