McAdoo sounds defeated

Sean : 10/8/2017 4:48 pm
I feel bad for him. This looks like a 3-13 type year and jobs will be lost.

Regardless of your opinion on this guy, this team had SB aspirations. I think this will lead to a full house cleaning.
3?

One can only hope and pray for.

A full, a very full house cleaning.
He ought to
David B. : 10/8/2017 4:50 pm : link
He's been defeated 5 times already, and is looking at a lot more defeats coming.
He was expecting a win today, maybe a win
joeinpa : 10/8/2017 4:50 pm : link
that would give some momentum and get this season turned around.

Instead of the glow of victory, he suffers the worst loss of the year, along with losing his best player.
0-16 more likely

hey, he's the coach
markky : 10/8/2017 4:50 pm : link
he didn't but the best players on the field, didn't put the players in position to succeed and has been stupidly stubborn with his play calling.

he gets the big bucks. time for him to accept the consequences.

Who are we going to beat? 0-16 baby. Book it.
We took a step in the right direction

"Back to work!"

Fuck you Ben.
He's likely going to lose his job..

Not being nasty, but, name just 2(esp. w/OBJ gone for the year).
I hope we don't go 0-16..

Don't want that on Eli's resume.
He called a horrible game today

This whole mess starts with him. He cannot be gone soon enough
The sooner the better with this guy.
robbieballs2003 : 10/8/2017 4:52 pm : link
Lets see if Mara is man enough to admit his mistake. I don't want to hear injuries as an excuse. There is way more evidence than just today with this guy.
He's a millionaire that will likely find a high paying job as an...

But this team is awful

Do not like some of things McAddo
mdc1 : 10/8/2017 4:55 pm : link
does but the results should be SUBSTANTIALLY better with the high paid talent on this team. To me I sometimes wonder if the owners will save him and can Reese for the multi-season oline fuckups. Can't blame it on HC or OL coordinators as we have gone through several now. Points back at the person who selected the inferior products and contracts.

how about the fans?
Some guys know their X's and O's
short lease : 10/8/2017 4:57 pm : link
but, can't motivate.

Some guys can motivate a team to crash through a brick wall but, aren't strong on the X's and O's part and that is why they have coordinators.

IMO McAdoo is the former. He should have stayed a coordinator - which looks like his destiny in a year or 2.

Does anybody on this team look like they are trying?
Tell him to cheer up
UberAlias : 10/8/2017 4:58 pm : link
His job is safe. I read that today.
First pick in the draft would be amazing.
beatrixkiddo : 10/8/2017 4:59 pm : link
They can turn this around real quick, need to clean house and nail that franchise QB. I'm actually happy we didn't win. I don't want years and years of mediocrity like we wasted with Coughlin late. Time for the big time changes that have been long overdue. It will be sad to see Eli go but all things run their course.

Can't wait for the Mara end of season excuses. It wouldn't surprise me to read one day that Mara is selling. Too much player BS, strike looming, horrible product that is losing paying customers, tough to pay the bill for that lousy stadium without fans, and another year of McAdoo and that top staff they say they have. My forty year affinity for this team is on the brink.
He is defeated
Vanzetti : 10/8/2017 5:00 pm : link
Giants are arguably the worst team inNFL
Unreal that Tom Coughlin was fired for this guy
Ned In Atlanta : 10/8/2017 5:01 pm : link
Not saying that Coughlin wasn't at the end of his tenure, but how the hell was this guy chosen to be his successor? Not a good in game coach, not the offensive guru he is billed to be, definitely doesn't look the part and doesn't instill any confidence whatsoever

If 0-16 is what it takes to get the top pick, Eli can take it. It's not like his narrative isn't completely destroyed already.
No question he should go But Reese must go as well .
Bluesbreaker : 10/8/2017 5:03 pm : link
His personality sure doesn't help this team never seems to
have a gameplan . While rookies make comments we know what your trying to do is damning . I hated this draft a simpletin
knew where the problem's lye . the were ignored .
Macadoo body language is horrible just like Eli’s
NikkiMac : 10/8/2017 5:04 pm : link
Only Macadoo really looks lost in his play card and has no emotion on the sideline just the stupid card in front of his face ...... he’s a players coach who who’s players are not responding ....
The team that Couglin built

even if mcadoo loses his job
japanhead : 10/8/2017 5:20 pm : link
over this debacle, i can sadly, yet easily, see john mara retaining reese and insisting that one of spags, sully or quinn get the HC spot and, further insist that the new coach retain two-thirds of the coaching staff, including gilbride jr. maybe a few scouts go. but mara's MO since 2013 seems to be rearranging deck chairs on the titanic. i honestly think reese is neutered in a lot of ways and am starting to lay this all at mara's feet. reese is a company man, and in some sense, probably a bit of a puppet.

As much as Mac should be fired I don't see Mara firing him after only 2 seasons as HC. Mac will never be a good HC until he learns to delegate authority and more importantly he has to stop trying to be one of the guys. He wants to be loved by the players when he should want to be feared by them. He also needs to give up the play calling because he absolutely sucks at it.
Amazing how fast the cockyness
GmeninPSL : 10/8/2017 5:34 pm : link
goes away when your team can't do anything right for 5 weeks. McNuggets thought he was the 2nd coming of Lil' Bill and now he looks like a meek little middle school pupil on the podium. He accomplished nothing but yet his press conferences were brutal and rude. Enjoy your piece of humble pie with those McNuggets Benjamin!!!!!
Who did he blame this time?

hopefully i'm just being overly negative, but it's been tepid half-measures with mara for four years now. maybe this is the season he reconsiders his entire approach and reflects on how those half measures set the team back and allowed long-standing problems to get even worse. but do you really think he's going to fire reese, ross, the coach, his own brother, half the scouts, etc.? i don't think he has the stones to do a top-to-bottom overhaul. here's hoping he proves me wrong.
I don’t know how
blueblood'11 : 10/8/2017 6:12 pm : link
When this season finally ends and the Giants who God knows if they’ll win a game I don’t know how when you see the ineptitude McAdoo has perpetuated on this team Mara can justify to the Giants faithful bringing this clown back.
I used to be a McAdoo fan....

but seeing him on the sideline today with his slicked back hair and sunglasses on a completely overcast day made me really start to dislike him in a visceral way. The sooner I don't have to look at his mug anymore the better for me.

Injuries actually. Forgot exactly what he said but it was something like “we were depleated but no excuses”. Which, of course, was an excuse.
After two seasons
santacruzom : 10/8/2017 6:21 pm : link
His win loss record will be below 500. That's quite the feat when the first of those seasons was 11-5.

He's very concerned about how he looks on the sidelines which really should be the last thing on his mind! His ego is the reason he won't give up the play calling. I dislike players with extreme egos but dislike coaches with extreme egos even more, especially when they haven't earned anything yet!
