That better not be the case. A functional franchise does NOT saddle a new GM with a coach. EA to Reese was a bit different as Reese was already in the organization. If Reese is gone, the new GM should calibrate with ownership and hire a new HC.
IF McAdoo is retained, I hope Reese returns as well. Otherwise, this will continue to be a franchise with a ton of turnover.
I blame Reese more than MacAdoo.
This post makes no sense.
Six seasons.
Five without playoffs.
Reese has failed.
Miserably.
Dead man walking.
And rightfully so. He has more than earned it.
I sincerely hope that Mara doesn't use the injuries as an excuse for this season, but I can certainly see it.
An argument could be made for 2007 (but the guy at the helm gets the credit), but 2011? How many of Accorsi's players were on the 2011 team?

That’s not on the GM. The GM put together a team people were saying had Super Bowl potential. He can’t coach them too

Looking back, the 2011 title, while magical and entirely legitimate, had a lot of luck and we just simply caught lightning in a bottle for 6 weeks. We should readily admit it now.
It’s a cabal that reinforces their erronious player evaluations.
Oh really? Even if you gave Accorsi credit for the first. How the hell can you give him credit for one 4 yrs after he left. lol
Is this reported by a beat reporter? National news? Is it someone's opinion?
Would like to know the source to give it credence.
It wouldn't make any sense to fire a GM but keep a HC in place. Especially not a guy like McAdoo who has certainly not earned it.
For now... it wouldn't be wise for an owner to admit they might fire the GM and HC only 4-5 weeks into the season, regardless of how bad the team doIng. That would create an extremely toxic locker room. Yes this team sucks, but they do have talented players who are young enough to still be part of the team after whatever happens in the upcoming offseason.
