Penalties yesterday

Since1965 : 10/9/2017 10:37 pm
We heard all week how well practices went. But, it was very disconcerting to see so many penalties and the overall sloppiness for such a "must win" game. They seemed unprepared and disorganized too many times yesterday. The coaching staff has to do a better job than that.
Two of them were JPP

Maybe Apple is right in that there is a culture problem or an accountability problem. When I listened to JPP's explanation of the penalties he kind of shrugged it off as no big deal. As a veteran and SB champion on this team, I expect him to set the example for others to follow. Add to that, Odell's comments after his 15 yarder for excessive celebration; again shrugging it off as no big deal, it's just another log in this dumpster fire.
Lack of attention to detail

Are what penalties are about. This team is playing like a bunch of individuals because they are so desparate to make a play or make something happen, they do stupid stuff like line up off sides or fail to stay in rush lanes or lunge at the defender when pass blocking or tackle high or block in the back on punt returns.

They lack confidence and are playing guessing games. With all the injuries it should get ugly.

I only hope we remain competitive while looking for our first win the rest of the way.
Just look at the penalties,

that have derailed this offense in the 4th quarter of the last 3 games....as soon as the penalty on Hart was called in that last drive, you knew the game was over...later on Fluker was called for holding, and I thought Chargers were stupid for not taking it....even though pass was tipped, how in the world could the Giants have two receivers in the same spot, which caused a cluster of defenders to be in that one spot?

The problem with this offense is, sometimes it takes 3(and sometimes 4) completions to get a first down.....
You're on target with that one

Yes. All they can complete are short passes due to the inability of the OL to sustain their blocks. It is awful watching pass plays that gain 2 yards, and needing three completions for first downs.
The two offsides really bothered me, especially the second one.

But, also the delay of game on the 2 pt try. That is just terrible coaching.
