Collinsworth said Sunday was Flowers best game of his career and the guy from PFF said after week 1 Flowers has been the #13 ranked LT in the NFL. Thoughts?
the games against Philly, Tampa, and SD were all winnable, and Flowers held up and played a competent LT.
Don't let facts get in the way of a classic BBI narrative. O'Hara not wanting to eat his words said something like "well, he didn't suck" a couple weeks ago.
Maybe it's a mirage but he's been solid three weeks in a row. And completely shut down Engram on Sunday. Very impressive. Hope his confidence grows. He's got another monster test on Sunday.
he shows just enough to warrant someone putting him again, next year............
this makes zero sense. This kid figuring it out and cementing himself as a true LT is bad because you just dont like him? He is still very young - younger than every OT picked in the 1st 2 rounds of the 2017 draft!
that a big part of Flowers's problem was mental. He was getting whipped like a dog out there and had lost confidence, which, in turn, made him play even worse.
He has a couple games where he's not the worst thing you think about, and no surprise that he's starting to play a little better.
We should all hope that he does. But that doesn't mean he's a quality starter yet. He'll probably be decent someday at some position. He's still a kid.
Further, it has actually been more the right side of the OL that's been the bigger disaster for the last two seasons. Any running they've been able to do has been to the left.
me skeptical at best. This might be one of the worst Sunday Night Football games NBC has had since they got the package, and Collinsworth is trying to drum up a sliver of interest by trying to pretend the Giants aren't as bad as public perception as they go into a game against the best pass rushing team in the NFL. "Hey, watch this coming Sunday night, I swear they're not AS bad as you might think, I swear!".
is graded lower on PFF than Flowers? Jack Conklin, La'el Collins, and Nate Solder. Three players that BBI appears to covet. Tunsil, Bolles, and Ramczyk are graded higher but still in the below average category.

If you're trying to drum up interest in a football game, you don't do it by underselling how bad one team's LT is playing.
But I really wish I could see him versus Flowers. That would be the real test. My guess is he is going to be lined up over Hart, which poses a HUGE problems based on how hes played this season. Maybe this will be the final straw of seeing Hart at RT. Lets just hope it doesnt get Eli killed.

If you watch the video it's the exact opposite. he almost laughs about all of the Giants problems but then says Flowers isn't one of them. + who in the right mind is tuning in to see "an improving, better than you think" LT for an awful team? I'm not even going to pretend I know as much as some of your guys in watching tape etc but it sure seems like whatever process/numbers these 2 use they legit think he's doing a decent job and possibly improving.
The OL has started to come together just as the front office thought it would.
but the defense has been so much worse than expected and the general malaise of losing has sapped the team so much, that it doesn't matter. Too little, too late from the OL.
And just for clarification, I'm not saying the OL is "good." Just saying they went from 30-32 range to maybe 20th.

Really....just as they "thought it would" fucking 5 games into the season.....this OL shit show started last year, so it's laughable that you or the FO would think it's coming together at this point. Go watch espn, or cartoon channel or something. lol They are still #32
Wouldnt be a bad thing if LT can be removed from our shopping list moving forward.

He played poorly in the Philly game and got destroyed against Detroit.
He was one of the very very few signs of light in the SD game aside from
Gallman.

Enough about Ereck Flowers - ( New Window )

He's terrible.

Papa and Banks pointed out the stunts on their show, but the Giants were still caught offguard on Sunday.
