TANKS. Mcadoo is not a head coach. He has lost the team.
with the 4 WRs out

things are looking especially grim.. that 3 of the defensive players are making a scene (apple, drc, collins) magnifies how dire the situation is. not a good look for mcadoo.
Yeah but we had a great practice ....

Thats all the information I have for you .
Next Question ..
Had DRC started the Season at one CB position...
M.S. : 10/12/2017 9:31 am : link

...and Eli Apple as the 5th/slot DB, maybe we're not 0-5 and maybe DRC is still in the house.

That's a bad coaching decision.

But Eli Apple being over-drafted in the first round was a bad General Manager decision, and much worse than the first bad decision.
As long as Mac can review the game film, and make sure we are

Not joking but we probably should not have let Coughlin go. I know we weren't looking good for a year or 4 there but he seemed to be able to get things together and make a super bowl run every half-decade. Anyone remember that? Maybe should have taken a gamble and seen if he could do it again lol
By the way, did Collingsworth say something about Flowers this week?
PatersonPlank : 10/12/2017 10:46 am : link
Maybe I'll start a separate thread on it.
Eli Apple
allstarjim : 10/12/2017 11:17 am : link
was not overdrafted. He was an excellent pick and is still very young in this league and by an NFL player standard. I'll go back to Dave Te's excellent analysis and say that Eli Apple was the top corner in the draft, and he still has a lot of time to prove that, and I think he will. But he has to work to get better.

What I see with Apple is that he is often in position to make plays, he runs with anybody, he just doesn't get his head around like he should to play the ball. Once he starts remembering some tendencies he is going to be making big plays and getting some picks. I truly believe that. He is as talented a corner as we've ever had.
Thing is,
Doomster : 10/12/2017 11:56 am : link
we can't wait for that to happen....this is his second season....coaching should have corrected, not looking for the ball, since last season...it hasn't....and his tackling hasn't shown improvement either...also, he has been slow to react to WR screens this year...

It does make you wonder about the coaching, on all levels/positions of this team....
I guess the new power hairdo isn't working out so well.

Enough with this. Coughlin gone almost two years now, and he's not coming back. Got to deal with what is here and not what woulda, coulda, shoulda been.

Exactly what this team does not need right now. It is scary
how quickly this could become 0-16 or 1-15 if the wheels really fall off - I guess that would force a house cleaning! Is that the only not so silver lining?

The consensus on Apple at the time was a late first round pick. While he has shown some ability, his penchant for PI's is concerning and he NEVER gets his head turned to the ball, some guys never get past this. I hope you are right and he improves but right now I just don't see it and view him as a disappointment and a wasted opportunity to improve the O-line.
At this point, whatever leads to our getting a better draft pick

may end up being a good thing.

if the wheels fall off? the wheels are already off. can you imagine this team with its #1 and 2 receivers out for the season, it's #3 out for an undetermined amount of time, with one of its best CBs suspended indefinitely, and with the defense looking like it has? this is worse than 2013 by a long-shot, at least that year the team stuck together.
