probably my favorite yankee team in at least 15 years
They are an enjoyable squad aren't they...Great mix of youth and Veterans
this feels far more like the 90s teams than any team that played in the 2000s...and that includes world champs in '09.
and you hit the nail on the head: there's a mix of young/old and the team doesn't just consist of the 5 biggest names on the market.
just a well built and fun team. the farm+ savvy deals etc.
I remember them talking about the baby bombers when they were winning in Sept last year, they aren't use to losing, this group has won at every level they've played at in the minors.
Third star - Brett Gardner. What an at bat to give them some breathing room.
Second star - Carsten Charles. The big man pitched his heart out and did what they needed him to do.
First star - Sir Didi! Game of his life. Two crushed homers off the Cy winner and a sensational double play to end the threat in the fifth. What a performance!
Cleveland hadn't lost 3 games in a row since JULY. During that 22 game winning streak they wiped the Yankees out in the Bronx and made them look non-competitive. The Yanks played at a world championship level to win this series
that rule needs to be changed. Awesome performance by the warrior.
Agreed...I’m so glad we held the lead for him, even if he doesn’t get the box score win, everyone watching knows the job he did tonight out pitching the best pitcher in the AL this year.
The two top offenses in baseball clash. Each team has one established ace (Severino/Keuchel), one older warhorse reliving their glory days (CC/Verlander), and hit or miss starting pitching the rest of the way down.
The key to this series is Tanaka and the bullpen. They have to pitch well to win. The Yankee rotation is deeper when Tanaka is on

can't argue those. honorable mention to D-Rob. huge DP and then a couple of clean frames on top of that. HUGE string of outs.

Yankees have hit Verlander well last couple years.
Can't argue with that. I like Francona...tough night for him. Â

tonight. When we traded for him I figured he had lost something since he left. He has been tremendous all season and thru these playoffs. Another Yankee binky.
do to Francona for him to lose faith in him? The guy pitched 2 no hit innings with 4 k's. Turning point of the series was Francona bypassing Tomlin to Bauer for the dagger. He knows something we don't about Kluber. My opinion, if he goes with Tomlin in Game 4 the Tribe moves on.
Cleveland has some weak sticks in the lineup - Urshela, Kipnis, their catchers (although they did some damage in this series). Houston is a circular lineup. Everyone can hit - no easy outs.

He doesn't throw that 93 fastball on the corner anymore. 92 mph cutter and 6-12 curve ball and a change.
we weren't supposed to do this....we're still rebuilding. We are ahead of the curve here. Even if Houston sweeps us, it has been a fantastic year of development.
That said, I think I'd be dropping Judge to 6th or 7th.

Eh....on the whole, Tomlin is a pretty mediocre pitcher.

Tomlin sucks. And i'm not sure even if he was good where he should have pitched. The guy had a couple good innings, but it doesn't change the fact that he blows. He bypassed him for Bauer because Tomlin simply isn't any good.
RE: RE: The ALCS is going to be wildly entertaining Â

Wasn’t clev a top offense?
Cleveland was a strong offense but the top 2 in runs scored were Houston #1 and the Yanks #2
he hit the wall. Some guys just step it up in the playoffs. He had a couple of Kahnle-like innings in this series, crazy not to give him another shot. especially given his playoff track record.
The 3 straight wins most of all, but REALLY LOVING the Yankees fucking up the Cleveland locker room!!! Not only losing the game, but now they'll (stadium maintenance) will have to clean up after the Yanks pollute the room with Champagne!!!
"Keep Playing"... 1 game at a time!!! Sir Didi on O & D!!! CC.... Fraz, Gardy!!! Chappy!!! GREAT WIN!!!!
now lets beat the top-to-bottom best team in baseball.
Can't say how happy I am that we get at least four more games in a year we weren't supposed to make the playoffs.
Any chance we get a series where the strike zone doesn't favor the pitchers? All the yammering about raising the strike zone was implemented about as much as players not being allowed to step out of the box.

That's what our squad has.
Balls.
I'm so fucking happy!!!!!
Did that really happen? I'm flabbergasted.

I concur. Well selected, sir.

Yup, has to be Tanaka. He's been almost unhittable the last 2 times out

good call
If George were still alive this guy would have front row tickets to every Yankees home game in the playoffs.
He'll start, but I'd start Romine at catcher and let Gary DH that day.
dammit missed it....MLB Network?

where are these instead of fs1?
