All injured Giants (except Collins) NOT playing on Sunday

Jordan Raanan& #8207;Verified account @JordanRaanan

OUT for Giants on Sunday: Jonathan Casillas, Olivier Vernon, WR Sterling Shepard, DE Romeo Okwara, TB Paul Perkins, C Weston Richburg. Ouch!
Vernon hurts, and we knew about Shepard
PatersonPlank : 10/13/2017 10:34 am : link
All the rest have backups that play just as well (sadly). I don't even notice when Jones comes in for Richburg (for example).
No surprise whatsoever...
Chris684 : 10/13/2017 10:37 am : link
Totally horrible and depressing.

The weather is starting to finally cool down, fall is in the air, the parade of holidays is coming up fast and we have no Giants football to go with any of it.

What a kick in the nuts.
no problem with it

Let's see what the depth can do. At this point it is about seeing what you have moving forward.

We're gonna get debacled.
What a shame, after a decent year out of position and then
jcn56 : 10/13/2017 11:11 am : link
a strong sophomore year at C, that you see Richburg's name on the inactive list and figure 'eh, not much of a dropoff to Jones'.

What the hell happened with that guy?

A tell tale sign of a team mailing it in is guys not toughing it out. And yes, I recognize I'm not an NFL player, but most of these guys will admit they're never 100%.

What a f*cking shi*show of a season.

Heads better role after this garbage.
Who didn't see this coming?

We basically have nothing after the starters....I don't see any of them stepping up to be starter material, outside of Gallman(who is just a best of a bad bunch scenario).....

But, after this loss, I think it's time to answer questions on Perkins, every OLman, and flirt with different OL combinations, and of course, giving Webb some playing time....
I had my 7 year old running routes last night

in the driveway and told him he might have to suit up for the Giants this weekend. At dinner he finishes up, turns to me, and with a total straight face asks, "are we going to play it again sports now?" "For what?" "To get football pads so I can play for the Giants this weekend."
5 of 11 starters
bluepepper : 10/13/2017 11:29 am : link
on offense out. If this had happened a couple of weeks ago Ben and Jerry would have gotten passes for 2017. But since we were 0-4 while we were relatively healthy this shouldn't save them.
So Webb will be active?

That Vernon contract is really working out
Go Terps : 10/13/2017 11:36 am : link
I don't mind these guys being out. They're part of the reason the team sucks. I'm actually looking forward to seeing some new players.
I am very much looking forward to Rudolph

I thought this guy flashed all summer. Looks like a gamer and is a great kid. Rooting for him.

Sadly, this is a real possibility.
I wasn't joking

Not in the least. The wheels came off last week and with our top WRs out for the year, our 2nd best DB now on hiatus and seemingly MacAdoo losing the team already, I don't see one game we can realistically win.
giants are irrelevant now

.....
CoughlinHandsonHips : 10/13/2017 12:10 pm : link
The shitty part about the Vernon contract is if they cut/trade him next offseason it only saves 5 million. And they'd still be out for his replacement

JPP is even worse. Cutting/trading him next offseason creates an additional 5 in dead money. So they lose money cutting bait.

I wasn't sure, but I put the ceiling on this team at 2 wins, with no realistic thought on how they would even get there.

I don't care about 11-5 last year either. The state of this team, injuries or not is so bad, I want Reese, McAdoo, and the entire coaching staff fired. They had a terrible offense last year, had a terrible camp/pre-season, made some interesting personnel moves, still have one of the 5 worst OLs in the league, have an overrated DC (in my opinion), continue to have ST mishaps week after week, continue to have costly penalties and the least opportune times, and now seem to have no respect for the coach. There is not one person from GM down to the lowest level coach that should be retained. We need a new GM from outside the organization to come in and hire his own HC, run the draft, and hire a new coaching staff.
Guys aren’t going to play dinged up
Rflairr : 10/13/2017 12:35 pm : link
For a coach they don’t respect. Expect more of this

i'm legitimately concerned that if they don't beat the Niners it's a distinct possibility. Niners could win that game too.

Eli and Engram could light up a game or two...the D could play hard for one full game...but man...where is this team getting a win?

I've never seen a team fall so far so fast! It's amazing....this season truly is one to behold.
If we end up, 1-15...alright.
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 10/13/2017 1:33 pm : link
0-16, I cannot accept. GET AT LEAST ONE DAMN WIN! There have been a handful of 1-15 teams of the year. 0-16? Only the '08 Lions.
Ben and Jerry!
old man : 10/13/2017 1:45 pm : link
Hahahaha!
Turned this team,
Into ice cream,
And now it's melting.
I’m thinking 2-14 or 3-13
Vanzetti : 10/13/2017 1:45 pm : link
No chance they go 0-16
Spags is going to have to blitz an awful lot
Simms11 : 10/13/2017 1:46 pm : link
to have any chance in this game. I thought Okwara was hurt too? JPP needs to start earning his pay check, but unfortunately, I do not see any help for him on the other side.

Is really revealing about some of the fan base.

Best part of the season is coming, even with Giants not competing there are good games to look forward to.

Being a front runner must suck
0-16
jvm52106 : 10/13/2017 2:00 pm : link
shouldn't be possible but at the same time I am starting to see such major divides and issues within the team that finding any wins on the schedule is not easy. If Eli gets hurt we are done for. If we lose Pugh or Harrison we are done for.

What I would like to see is a change in philosophy in general. Come out in a jumbo set:

QB-Manning
RB- Gallman
TE- Engram
TE- Ellison
TE- Adams
LT-Flowers
LG- Pugh
C-Jone
RG-Fluker
RT-Hart
WR- Lewis

Run , Run and run again.. Mix up and do quick play action to a TE, run end arounds with Engram (ala Kelce in KC), send two TE's out into the pattern.... Play big and just try and not get Eli killed.
So, Halapio

Whats Gettis doing these days?
Next man up!
Gman11 : 10/13/2017 2:28 pm : link
The problem is the next man up isn't as good as the guy who went down and the guy that went down wasn't all that good.

After last year, Vernon deserves the benefit of the doubt.
