Without being down 1-0 in the first 2-3 minutes. These guys dont seem to be playing with the passion and effort needed to succeed right now. If they cant bring it against the defending champs, not sure if it will ever happen.
is coming out of a losing streak when they are losing games they probably deserved to win. They deserved a better fate the other night against NJ. Keep that level of play up and they should be ok.
But it's getting late early, needs to start tonight.
I didn't see the Columbus game so I can't speak to that. Carter Hutton and Keith Kinkaid basically played like Vezina winners the games the Rangers played them. They have had better puck possession this season, but aside from Mika, no one can finish. I wish Chytil was given more of a chance, I think he can be a difference maker on this team. I would like to see them finally score more than 2 goals tonight. Aside from the shootout in Toronto, this has been a difficult team to watch. Luckily, it's only October 17, and I still feel this is a playoff team, if not better. However, if they don't make the most of having 9 of their next 12 games at home, things could start getting ugly soon.

It's not like we've been blown out of the building in any of the 5 losses - Toronto was probably the only game where we probably 'deserved' to lose. The S% will eventually normalize and hopefully our goaltending will also get better. But as you say we are past the point of moral victories - season is getting late in a hurry especially playing in the packed metro division
Next 4 games are pitt, NYI, Nashville and San Jose -- it could conceivably get really ugly around here
He certainly hasn't been the offensive force I'd hoped for, nor does he bring a physical presence. I'm hoping he has a lot more to offer as the season goes forward.
In a game. 5-on-3 pissed away, take a bad penalty - give up tying goal. This team can't get out of its own wag
I’m watching the game sipping a pomegranate cosmo in the Marriott above Union Square in San Francisco. So I may be a little more relaxed But Rangers are winning this game, I can feel it
RE: RE: And that is precisely how a bad team pisses away momentum Â

If they lose (which I expect) - they have a worse record than the Giants. Impressive.
I can't take any incompetence from my sports teams anymore. This Yankees run does nothing for me (not that I'm rooting against them - I just don't care)
Especially since I'm going Thursday and Monday - one can't sell his tickets Monday for half price these days.
Even average about him now. Let's not forget he was not highly drafted - not that this matters for a guy in his late 30s but we can't just assume he can go as late as Brodeur or Hasek. He's a problem at this point - at least two games toronto and this one are completely on him already
Not fair to say it's completely on him. And while the tying goal tonight was awful, the defense has been such a disappointment to start the season. Constant turnovers

You can say an average goalie might have given up 2-3 against toronto in one period. 2 with even one quality save. Two of their goals were high school quality. He's been old and slow.
He also gave up softies vs Cbj and Colorado which ended up the game but I didn't go there.
He has been atrocious - as he was against Ottawa. After being brilliant vs Montreal. Bizarre - the guy either is the worst player on the ice or was brilliant just in late April against the Habs. We'd be 0-7 if not for disallowed goals vs montreal.
Worse than giants who at least have played a lot of road games and had injuries. Pathetic doesn't begin to describe this team.
Well congrats on Yankees -- Arc (and I guess Brett) haven't had a good sports night since Montreal game 6 last year. I guess my wife and I celebrated UNCs well earned student-athlete basketball title haha - but jesus fucking Christ.
Going Thursday - I will lead the cascade of boos and 'fire AV' chants if we suck and I don't care if that's wrong.

I'd say AVs tempo is going to lead to turnovers (and some fast breaks). Lundqvist with the team 1-5 has to stop shots from behind his own net especially at the end of a game. It's not much to ask. This isn't Eli - he doesn't have two titles to fall back on.
Third goal I can recall from behind goal line on him in 7 months. It's unprofessional. Stop.
Yankees have been a wonderful distraction from this NYR situation. I'm beyond exasperated with this coach (Buch played less than 10 minutes tonight) but I feel like they're due for a good stretch of luck to get things back on track. It's far from a perfect roster, but it's better than 1-6
But I feel for the non-Yankees fans here. Enjoy Thursday...hopefully
...and played well enough to get the two ponts. Hank let them down and has a disturbing trend of giving up critical goals very late in periods.
It's definitely too soon to hit the panic button but damn this team gives me agita. It could very well be a long, long season and the end of our playoffs streak if something doesn't change soon.
I know AV signed an extension last spring but I'm 110% certain wins mean more to this franchise than money. With that being said, how much longer does Gorton, Sather and Dolan let this guy stick around?
I haven't looked it up - but the Rangers' OT record over the last several times they've been in a game that has needed extra time (incl. playoffs) has to be bad, no?
Maybe it's just my biased, downtrodden view because of how things have gone.. but this felt exactly like the OTT series. Give up the tying goal with under a minute to go, lose in OT.
And it feels like this happens constantly.
Fully expecting yet another loss to the Islanders tomorrow. Haven't beaten that team in what... over a year?
But it's getting late early, needs to start tonight.
Practically every single face off one of the two centers is kicked out.
Stop over-officiating and play the game.

This is a good team. Just be patient. Been playing below their talent level
Between this and the Yankees my keyboard cleaner habit is picking back up.
"I'm walking on sunshine!!!"
Jeff Gorton needs to grow a pair and send Veenyo packing.

Bout fucking time. So many missed chances this period.
Especially since I'm going Thursday and Monday - one can't sell his tickets Monday for half price these days.
I'm out of frustration. I just laugh now.
This is so utterly ridiculous at this point.
Just like the playoffs, once this team gives up a tying goal late, they have no fucking chance whatsoever in OT. They lose every single time.
Sports suck.
Sweet Girardi impression by McDonagh there. He also iced the puck right before that. Nice.
Would be nice to not give up a tying goal from behind the net of course.
Just fire the coach now, we all know it's coming sooner rather than later.

I'm fine with that but I think lundqvist is pretty much cooked at this point so the rebuild is needed
And McD.
Not sure what to say about that abomination.
This team stinks.

Good stuff.
