Q: What is the key for you as a pass rusher when going against Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson?
A: Youíve got to keep him contained. Heís a fast guy, played with him before. Weíve got to keep him contained and do your assignments well.
Q: How do you keep Wilson contained?
A: Easy, just rush the quarterback. Heís a tougher quarterback, he makes things happen. If you look, heís a special kind of guy. He can be falling down and he throws the ball downfield and gets it complete, so we really have to get there. Weíve got to stop the run first.
Q: How much can you build off of last weekís game?
A: We play one game, one at a time, especially me. I take one game one at a time. I donít look about what I did last week, or what Iím about to do. I just take it one game at a time and whatever opponent is in front of me, I figure him out and thatís when I get to work.
Q: What do you think about the opponent this week?
A: Iíll figure him out during the game. Thatís how I basically play, Iíll figure him out during the game because anything can switch in the game.
Q: With the injuries to Olivier Vernon and Romeo Okwara, how do you think Avery Moss has responded to increased opportunities?
A: Heís doing a good job. For a rookie, heís stepping up big time. Heís got a lot on him, but youíve got to step, when itís your time to step up, youíve got to step up. So, heís doing a great job. I try to coach him up here and there on the field, but I think he gets it.
Q: What kind of advice do you give Moss?
A: Donít try to think too much, donít try to think too much about whatís going on. Youíre going to mess up, thatís just the part of the game, but at the end of the day, if you mess up one 110% and then just thinking and then the play passes you by. Thatís football. React.
Q: Do you think that Defensive Player of the Year is still attainable this season?
A: Thatís something that every year I try to get. But, sometimes injuries occur. So, thatís my strive. Iím not really after it, but at the same time, whatever my play can help me get, can help me get.
Q: Did your shoulder hurt you earlier in the year?
A: My shoulder hurts me every year, man, but Iím out there [laughs].
Q: Would you say that you Ďbring the juiceí to the team, as Defensive Line Coach Patrick Graham said?
A: Honestly, I feel like, me personally, Iím going to bring the juice no matter what. At the end of the day, weíve been counted out. Iíve been counted out plenty of times, but nobody can tell you when itís your time. But as of right now, Iím going to continue playing football the best way I can Ė stopping the run and getting to the quarterback, pressuring the quarterback. Iím going to do everything in my power to help my team win this game this week.
Q: Do you notice the impact that your energy has on the team in a game like last week?
A: No, I just know I was super tired last week. Thatís a totally different place to play at, now I know. But at the end of the day, again with last week, I look forward to going out this week and putting a great performance on, but at the same time, doing my assignments as well. Youíve got to do your assignments, you canít just go out there and free ball the whole defense. But Iím ready to just go out there and just play my game.
Q: What did it mean for you to get those sacks last week and do your celebration dance for your super fan, Hayden, who visited the team last week?
A: Oh, that meant a lot. I told him that I was going to get a sack Ė I didnít tell him how many I was going to get [laughs]. But it is just exciting to know that I can do that for him and he was watching at the time Ė maybe he fell asleep, Hayden may have fell asleep [laughs]. But just for me doing that for him Ė I have a son myself Ė and heís been through so much already and already knows what it takes to go through so much and heís just a little kid and heís going to keep fighting. So, I was excited to do the dance, even though he does it better than me, Iím not a good dancer. But I made sure that he knew I was thinking of him.
Q: Have you been in touch with Hayden at all since the game?
A: Not at all. But I will be.
Q: Will we see a dance this week?
A: Oh yeah, Iím going to bring out my dance this week [laughs].
