CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Postgame vs. Seattle Seahawks, Oct. 22, 2017

Q: What happened on that TD?

A: It was an all out blitz. The few times I was getting in, they kept running pick routes. I told myself that I was going to jump outside. As soon as I jumped outside, he took it up field.

Q: You gambled a little bit?

A: Yes.

Q: What was it like for you being back out there?

A: It was fun. Anytime you step on that field, it’s a blessing. Ten years in, you don’t take it for granted. That ball was fun; we just didn’t get a win.

Q: Obviously it took a while for you to get in there.

A: Yes. That’s how it is, man. You go away from a team, you have to come back and earn it back. All I can do is keep fighting to earn it back.

Q: Was that explained to you?

A: Yes. I just take it as it goes. Whether I’m playing or not playing, I’m going to be supportive and I’m going to be here. Any chance I get, I’m about the hype.

Q: What do you do for the bye now?

A: Relax. You have to get away from football, but you also have to reflect. Figure out what went wrong. Come back, bend your ears back and go.

Q: How tough was it at the end of the game when it was all Seattle fans in here?

A: They were tough. Even throwing the ball, it was tough. It hurt a little bit. Give credit to those guys. They came out and they took it.

Q: Did you get to see the TD that Collins had?

A: That was wrong. He definitely didn’t have possession at all. They both hit the ground. One thing about it is you have to have a complete catch to the ground. By the time his knee was down, Landon had already taken the ball from him, that was the wrong call.

Q: When something like that happens, how big of a punch was that to take?

A: It’s big. We knew we were right there. All we can do is put this one behind us. We have a bye week, get away from football, come back ready to roll.

Q: Coming into this game, did you have hope that you could go on a run?

A: Definitely. The loss can’t change it. You can’t just go out there and say we have nothing to play for anymore. We have nine games left. You have to go out there and fight those nine games. You know how this league is. You can’t let down.

Q: Does it get discouraging that you’re out there play after play and the offense isn’t putting anything up?

A: No. We had them. We had them at 10-3. You have to find a way to get that one. That was tough. That touchdown they had in the third quarter, that started them on a run and we can’t have that.

Q: Did you know how you were going to be used tonight?

A: Yes. I knew they weren’t going to play me much. They just threw me here and there. That’s hard to come off the sidelines and be focused and prepared. At the end of the day, I knew my role and I was ready for that.

Q: Why did you know you weren’t going to play much?

A: I just came off a suspension.

Q: How hard is that for you to accept?

A: When you get old, you take it how you want to take it. I don’t complain or get mad whether I’m in or out. When my name is called, I have to be ready. It’s a long season. One thing about DB’s is that they always get hurt. I know I’m going to get a chance to get back in there.

Q: Did Jackrabbit get banged up?

A: Just a little bit but he’s fine.

Q: What’s it like playing on the outside.

A: I just played my role today.

Q: This was left over from suspension, the discipline?

A: Yes. The guys just came off a win, you don’t want to mess up chemistry. You keep the guys out there and let them roll. I’ll fit in when I get in.

He seems to be saying not playing much today was a discipline issue

but McAdoo said otherwise.

Great way to get on the same page there.
