Roy Halladay threw 67 career complete games. At least eight every year from 2008-11. Will probably be the last player to ever get 50.
best pitcher of that era. Also the most overlooked. He was such a frustrating pitcher to watch against the yankees. Had such great movement on his pitches
Roy's family used to live around the corner from me when I first moved to Florida. My oldest daughter used to babysit his boys before they moved. Talked to him many times... very nice guy. Prayers for Brandie and the boys.
Just numbing.
Always felt like he pitched great against the Yankees
and sure enough, just looked up the numbers: 18-7 with a 2.98 ERA and 7 complete games in his career. Just a fantastic pitcher, and by all accounts, a really good guy. Sad day.
But living around the area I've met him probably 10 times. Very nice guy. Definitely one of the nicest baseball players I've ever met. Rest in Peace Roy!
Roy Halladay was a great, great pitcher and a good guy.
This reminds me of another tragic aircraft accident with Thurman Munson, one of my all time favorites. They both loved to fly.
Didnt even get a chance to be enshrined amongst the immortals yet. Probably would have made a great pitching coach
Roy was the pitching coach of his son's HS team this past spring. They won the Florida state championship for their division and were ranked in the top 10 in the country by USA Today. (Calvary Christian HS in Clearwater FL).
this company used his wife in a video as a promotion.
They apparently showed her saying she wanted no part of her husband flying, then they show her going up with him and him loving it, and she finally realized why he wanted to do this so badly (heard this on Mike Francessa).
Just a terrible story.
And also two developers from the company apparently died in a crash months earlier?

This link does not confirm that.
If true, RIP.
In a 10-year stretch from 2002 to 2011 Halladay was 170-75 (a .694 winning percentage).
2-time Cy Young winner
8-time all-star
Career 203-105 record (.659)

Well someone was flying the plan and died... so RIP regardless. No qualifiers from me.
RIP to whoever it is.
