Belichick as Gm?

yankeeslover : 11/8/2017 8:20 am
Not so much should we do it, but just a Theory. Is there any precedent for a HC moving on to be a GM? Not really looking for discussion on if Bill would do it, just wondering how that works. Has this ever been done? and also, in Theory, is a GM position a promotion from a HC and he would be free to move on to be a GM elsewhere without compensation?
Just GM?

He would suck if he also didn't coach....

yes
Technically his title is head coach
pjcas18 : 11/8/2017 8:57 am : link
so GM or another executive title (and head coach) would be a promotion, but he is de facto GM in New England since they don't have a GM and he serves in that capacity but there is no chance IMO he'd leave.
he'd be a bad GM if he wasn't also a coach

so no, not unless he was coaching too.
how'd that work out for P. Jackson

and the Knicks?
No way would BB leave New England.....

He would definitely be a huge step up from the clown that has ruined the Giants who holds the position as GM, but I doubt whether Mr. Belichick would ever leave Mr. Kraft's employment.
With that idea in mind, why not consider bring Tony Dungy to the Giants as the next GM?
You're making strides..

At least you aren't calling him Jerry Brown anymore. Still don't know how that was acceptable.
The greatest coach in NFL history settling for a GM position?

Little Bill will have to be dragged off the sidelines.

There are still several more Super Bowls to win.

But with the Pats... not the Giants.

You should be banned for suggesting Tony Dungy as GM here.

Given the dictatorial powers.

IE, Mara's just watch.

First two years as bith GM and HC. Kicks himself upstairs to just GM once things are cranking.

Kicks himself to front office a few years later so he can enjoy life .
Both not bith
