Q: Do you take it one game at a time? You have to execute better as a football team.
A: Yeah, you do. But, looking ahead is not going to get you anywhere. So, like I said, you have to take it one game at a time. Be in the moment at practice and execute there first.
Q: Is this locker room together in your mind or are you starting to see guys go different ways?
A: No. I mean, everybody is sticking together. We know that we’re all each other has. I feel like everybody is still sticking together.
Q: The team is taking a lot of criticism at 1-7, especially the quarterback. Have you seen a difference in QB Eli Manning this year when it comes to level of play?
A: No. I mean, he’s remained the same on and off the field and he’s our quarterback. We’re sticking behind him. We know that he’s going to take a lot of the heat. That’s what every quarterback does in the league. It’s going to happen to them. So, we just have to let him know we’re behind him and keep pushing with him.
Q: The 49ers are one-point favorites but they’re winless. Does that give you guys any extra motivation?
A: I can’t say that we pay attention to any of that. I didn’t even know that. So, we just got to come out and execute and play the Giants football that we know we’re capable of playing. So, that goes back to what I was saying – just taking it a moment at a time and taking it a game at a time.
I don't know - I took it that he didn't know SF was favored by a point. Why should he know that? How does the betting line help them prepare. To what end should they study it?
Of course, if he didn't know they were winless that's altogether different, but I don't think that's the case.
