The original gloveone who came and then asked to have his/her account deleted had to be connected to the Manning family or one of his agents. He laid out the Eli trade and how Eli would act on stage before it happened.
A subsequent gloveone came along who was a dupe poster.
There are a few people here worth following who have legit inside info. They are easy to pick out.
of the best asshat offseasons was 2005. We had a number of people all over the Plax and Pierce signings... including someone who was at the hospital when someone was getting a physical. Another person knew Plax's airline itinerary. That was a wild offseason.

It was easier back when Accorsi telegraphed virtually everything he did.
RE: RE: Remember when we were supposedly getting a WR from Cleveland Â
and someone said that the Giants airplane was on the tarmac in Cleveland? What WR was that? I can't remember, was it Andre Rison?
Braylon Edwards. I believe it was Matt in SGS that reported that. I also believe he was receiving info from Byron Hunt.
Yikes.. It is one thing to name the poster and another to name where he was getting the info.. Its old news now but Matt still passes insight when he can and I wouldn't want that to go away.

2005 was my favorite offseason of all time here. This year will be pretty interesting but for far different reasons.

What's wrong with that? I remember the details because Matt has replayed the details a few times, plus he's one of the few must read posters on this site.
was one of my favorite if not favorite offseason. Going into his final season in Pitt I wanted the Giants to sign Plax because I thought that he could be a legit #1 WR on our team and would be a great option opposite Toomer and with Shockey.
The original gloveone was dead one with his posts. As Eric said there are a few guys here with inside info that post from time to time. Some posters criticize their information though because of posters like Slade.
two years ago. He was giving updates hourly on Vernon's decision making, etc. That was pretty awesome.
I have been nothing but honest about my connections. I have two. One who works in the office of a HIGH level NFL agent and the other is on the periphery of one of the coaching trees (Brian Billick) by marriage into one of the families.
There has been a huge amount of misinformation coming out of the Giants just before the last 2 drafts, to the point where my agent contact was 100% sure the Giants were taking Myles Jack in the 1st round. I rightfully so took a beating on that one and had to step back from posting what I hear. Then I posted the whole Rodgers gay thing which in retrospect was probably a terrible idea, and the whole thing blew up out of proportion to the point where every time I have a thought on a random thread it gets thrown in my face. That's really why I lurk a lot more than I post now. It's not worth being called some really nasty stuff by internet strangers. I do get it though - many of my own opinions are probably crafted by the behind the scenes stuff that I hear from my contacts, and when I put that out there as my own unpopular opinion I get killed for it. Ironically most of the stuff works out to be prophetic- and that is because the info I get originates from people who have a lot more at stake than 3 hours of entertainment on a Sunday. This is peoples livelihoods and money and I guess they just look at things differently and more from a business perspective. I will say though that it is really interesting about how those people who actually work in football or talk to people who work in football have a completely different take than the BBI general consensus on a lot of the players.
Thanks for that insight. Very interesting post. Especially the last two sentences. Without compromising any sources or saying anything that causes you grief do you mean on field performance being different than the group think here or the players off field behavior or both? If you can answer.

Well both actually.
The real thing that fascinates me is the absolute control of details, to a level way above any of us ever really imagined. By details I mean the perception of the team, the perception of a player (especially if in a contract year), the perception by the MEDIA is a huge one.
In a way- we walk around as fans thinking that organically things just happen within a team but if you step back and think about it- millions if not billions of dollars are at stake. Believe me that everything is controlled by the league, the teams and by extension the media. I know it's coming across a little tin-foily but it's not really a conspiracy per se it is just more common sense. This is why between social media and things going through the court system now the NFL and the owners are freaking out a lot- they are losing some level of the controlled narrative.
If I remember correctly he posted about the Steve Smith to Philly situation a free hours before the news hit. "this place is gonna go crazy in a few hours" or something like that.
There was a time through just dumb luck and friendships that I got a chance to see a little bit of the inner workings of the Giants and meet for a few brief encounters some of the main players both literally and figuratively.
The thing that I was totally unaware of and quickly learned was how thin skinned even lower level employees were to any kind of criticism even in the most harmless joking form. I never met Wellington but there have been documented stories about how petty he was about coverage of the Giants and my experience with sons of Wellington who were 30 years younger than they are now was exactly like that if not worse.
So nothing you're saying surprises me at all. What does surprise me is how little of what really goes on or went on with the Giants is known by people who post here. Everyday there are threads about Belichick and Handley and everyday it's the same uniformed narrative that's totally off base. That just one example. Reese hiring the head coach is another. So that's by design? I know the sons of Wellington have gone to extreme lengths to control his legacy and it's worked.
The old saying never meet your heroes was good advice I should have taken. I've never rooted for the blue laundry the same way after those days.
My friends husband is a doctor who works with the Atl Hawks. He treated Gerris Wilkinson for a bit and gave the scoop on his injury/non injury. Didn’t have an interest in getting accused of asshattery so I just gave it straight to Eric. I definitely would not want to volunteer info based on what Limereckguy posted.
Wasn't it about the big FA signings in 05 (Plax, Pierce, McKenzie) or am I getting mixed up?
A subsequent gloveone came along who was a dupe poster.

Yes, he's still around. He doesn't post anymore, but he's still around.

BBI managed to run him off, too.

SOTI was awesome and everything he posted was accurate.

You can post anything you hear!
I won't be nasty, promise! ;-)
Has Jerry Reese bought a hot dog cart yet?
Slade and cvic are the same person. He asked to have his handle changed. SOTI is a completely different person. I've met him.

try that again
Throwing some shade...well done
So says the creme de la creme of our insiders therefore it must be true!
Very good point. I know nobody connected to anyone inside of the Giants organization.
Well both actually.
