Excellent, if sad, summary . . . .

of the Giants' state of affairs.

Thanks, Eric!
how the NFL has changed

once 1st tier clubs. Now the scrubs. Goodell and current NFL need to go.
this gave me chills...

"It’s not the way we wanted it to end. We wanted to see [Eli] hoist that third Super Bowl trophy as MVP. But it isn’t going to happen. The Giants as a franchise botched it. They wasted the last six years."

Indeed. The front office personnel has proven to be a clown car. Ownership couldn't have botched this worse if they were actively trying.

Yeah it stinks. We will always have the memories. But, maybe one preview can be a compilation of write ups of how horrific the offensive played over the past four seasons. The fact that the o line is actually more unstable and worse now is absurd.

I know it is time to clean house on the HC, whose promotion coincided with the Giants becoming one of the worst offenses in the league, and a GM who can't or won't build a physical team from the lines out.

I am not sold that Eli can not have more success here in NY.

Can go F himself . I have seen enough of this crappy offense has anyone here actually seen a game plan other than because of injuries he is forced to run the ball and utilize some of the backup talent that has languished on the bench .
Sterling Shepard coming back will help along with King and
Engram gives Eli a few targets because the run game is not good enough especially with the state of the O-line .
Ellison and Adams have been under utilized IMO and the fact
that the current stable of RB's doesn't warrant any fear into the opposing defense .
The defense is now in tatters not only is the communication non existent but we don't have a single NFL quality LB playing the pass rush is DOA and the defensive backs who are all good players are lacking confidence and teams are
easily putting guys like Collins into mismatch situations .
Thankfully we have an equally woeful team thats looking for the 1st pick in the draft I expect little resistance if
the remainder of the Giants show up and play four quarters
But nothing is a guarantee with this crew and are not gonna risk injury to put up another win .
If there's one thing the NFL has proved over the last number of years

is that you can go from the basement to the top in one year and vice versa.

With the right GM/coach...right decisions made in FA and the draft, this team could rebound next year but it won't if the decision is made not to help out Manning.

We could easily be the Rams right now had we signed Whitworth and perhaps one other offensive linemen. Positions have been given to Flowers, Pugh and Richburg...they've never really had to compete for them. The front office and the front office alone is responsible for this shit show and that means ownership also. They allowed this to happen and I cannot understand why.

Mara must have signed off on Reese's off season strategy...but you see so many stupid things today with companies, sports teams, government organizations...you are just left shaking your head that incompetent people can be in such high positions and make huge boatloads of money for doing incredibly bad jobs.

Fish stinks from the head down and that means it starts with Mara/Tisch.
You could make a pretty good comedy film about this match up.

Two teams vying for the 1st pick and trying to loose but being frustrated by the other team also trying to loose! RB bursts through the line but no one tries to tackle him. He stops in astonishment and frustration when he realizes what's going, goes back to the l.o.s. and slams the ball down.

But wait, didn't I see McAdoo run that play!?
if there was even the remotest influence on...

...the decision making to be made by the powers that be.

the two most damning quotes are:

Change isn’t always good. But neither is loyalty. Not in this business.

i started a thread on the latter point maybe a month ago, and while Eli is not absolved of everything, it will likely always piss me off the way they burned the 2nd half of his career, seemingly predicated on certain folks thinking they were the smartest people in the room.
The Giants will WIN this game
superspynyg : 11/10/2017 5:26 pm : link
mark it down!!!

after that...not so much.
This game will only prolong the inevitable.....
Simms11 : 11/10/2017 6:04 pm : link
I don’t see really another game where we could win after this. A run? Hahaha (reminds me of Jim Moras line - playoffs?!). There’s got to be wholesale changes this off-season and I mean from top on down. We have to reboot this baby.
Better question

Do we/are you rooting for the Giants?

good write up. Thanks. I am wondering, why is it you don't see a future for Orleans Darkwa with the Giants? Is he too injury prone? He has played well in the limited opportunities given.
good job Eric, must be tough doing this these days

told ya so on JPP, along with alot of others here. Vernon your stereo type reason of why you can't build via FA. Jenkins possibly too.

They MUST clean house at the end of the season. Reese and his staff CANNOT be allowed to run another draft. McAdoo and ALL of the coaching staff must go, especially Quinn and Spags
I'll be rooting for the Giants

Guy can't seem to stay healthy. Now if he finishes this year without getting nicked up again, maybe I'll change my opinion on him.

But inevitably we learn the reason he is back on the bench is he got hurt again.
