Question about 2004 Giants

Route 9 : 11/11/2017 10:27 am
When exactly where the New York Giants eliminated from the playoffs this season? I was thinking of all the irrelevant games under Coughlin’s watch prior to the 2013 season. I was just curious how many games under Coughlin’s watch were irrelevant (mathematically eliminated from the playoffs)? Only one I can think of was the 2009 playoff game (prior to 2013) was the Minnesota game the last week of the season where Favre went wild on the defense.

I know there were some very shitty teams in the conference that year and about 2 or 3 8-8 teams made it to the playoffs.

I could’ve sworn the Pittsburgh game the Giants were still alive. Then prior to the Bengals game they were done….? Is this accurate? Then Eli got his first win vs Big D.
They made the switch to Eli at 5-4..

the lost 6 straight before finally winning. I’d guess they were mathematically alive up until 5-8.

I'm fairly certain they were eliminated after the Steelers game but I'm not 100% on that.

That was a hell of a game. Went back and forth and Eli really out played Roethlisberger that day

Really was a fun game

Most people point to the Dallas game at the end of that year or the comeback against Denver in 2005 as the times where they felt like they first saw glimpses of what Eli could become.

For me, it was actually that game against PIT.

He didn't complete a ton of passes of put up gaudy numbers - but he definitely looked like he had a bright future in this league. Which is something I think a lot of us needed to see after how bad that game in Baltimore was the week before.

Funny! I have said this to a lot of people, and no one seems to remember this game

I remember - Eli played well and showed that aptitude for the deep post that really blossomed with Plaxico.

Giants played their tails off until a couple of dubious penalty calls went in favor of the Steelers -- shocker, I know.

What a time to be alive and a Giants fan. Once they got Plaxico, countdown to the next season was on!
