In the 1st half! 1 turnover. Looking to become the youngest player in NBA History with a triple double. Guy will be a superstar. Just watch the next 10 years.
Superstar? Based on what he has shown on an NBA court? That's a joke.
He may develop. Maybe. Maybe develop into a decent NBA player.
Right now? He sucks ass. Awful NBA player. A liability on both ends. His game is full of holes right now. So easy to attack him on defense. On offense, so easy for his guy to lay off him and help others.
But he may have a triple double! Great. He also has the worst offensive game of any NBA player in the league right now.
In the off season his shooting motion needs to be broken down and rebuilt again to correct the technique he’s using. That side motion and then release is a not something that can be used consistently against NBA defenders.
1. Off the dribble if he’s going left to right across the key for instance and he wants to spot up for a jump shot, he’s actually brining the ball towards the defender when he shoots it.
2. The motion is too mechanical, not smooth and is a slow release.
3. The extra motion means less margin for error, more can go wrong with it and cause more frequent shooting slumps than a shooter with a normal release.
19 points. 12 assists. 12 rebounds. Youngest player EVER to record a triple double in the NBA. But I'm wrong.
HAHAHAHHAHA.
Well, one game doesn't make you right. IT is one good game along a string of really bad ones. He is shooting terribly, even in the paint. Time will tell on him.
you watching the games or just looking at the stats??
Teams are daring him to shoot. They are giving him room for open shots and he's missing. Badly.
The Micheal Carter Williams parallel is close. He can dish assists and get some rebounds, but he can't consistently score because his shot isn't good. Ball is even worse than that.
He's a month into his career so he can get better - but I don't see him ever being anything close to a "star" player. He's going to have to turn into a hell of a playmaker because he sucks as a scorer. He's shooting like sub-30% from the field and his 3pt% is about one more bad game away from dropping under 20%.
His game is just ugly. I haven't been impressed at all.
He posted a triple double tonight - cool. It doesn't prove anything.
If you want to see a superstar in the making, watch the guy wearing #6 in New York city.
Just for comparisons sake - here are their per 36 minute numbers
Frank 8.4 points 9.1 assists 3.4 rebounds 2.8 steals
Ball 9.7 points 7.5 assists 7.0 rebounds 1.3 steals usage rate is 19.2
PER
Frank 8.5
Ball 8.9
Frank's shooting better than Ball as well.

If you think MC Williams is the comp for Ball, I don't know what to tell you. Get back to me at the end of the season with your apology.
that Stan, per usual is just trolling it up and talking out of his ass. Lonzo Ball looks extremely average to even below average. Especially considering you got him at #2.
If anyone remembers him. Not as much fun to watch as Jayson. But his inability to shoot limits his star potential, and if he doesn't play D, he won't win.

Tatum looks so much more polished and advanced. Ball looks like a bench a bench player at best
No problem guys. I'll save this thread for future reference Â
Watching Lonzo take the mantle as best player in the game will be a great way for LeBron to finish his career.
How’s it feel to be in agreement with Stan? You’re basically at 100% chance of being wrong when you’re on his side. Lonzos career is over before it began because of Stanley
are you as insufferable in person as you are on BBI? You have a knack for grating on everybody, and not in a clever, trolling way, but in an "ugh, who invited that guy?" way.
I've watched him play 60-70 games over the last 3 years and he is a basketball savant which is not readily apparent to someone who might have only watched him play a couple of times(unless you watched the other night). He's not an alpha player like Magic or Bird, he's a very passive player who plays with little emotion and little flair. But his play is subtle and his passes are always correct. Most of his turnovers are his teammates not catching perfectly thrown passes. He defers too much right now and as soon as he gets a bit more aggressive like he was at UCLA he'll be consistent every night. Right now he has a garbage roster to work with but that will change. He can shoot the ball from 3(he did all last year) and his only weakness shooting is a mid-range game which I feel confident he will figure out. He has star written all over him, but not in the traditional flashy player style. He's an acquired taste, but the more you see him, you will understand better.
Listed we had a lot of fun on this thread(Igawa! My only miss, LOL). But at the end of the day, you will all become believers and I will be giving that broken clock a run for its' money.

His stroke in unorthodox. No one can fix it. He can do incredible reps to help improve what he's got, but the limitation is obvious and will be exploited by his opponents.
Kinna like the stuff I took when I said in 2008 Tiger would never win another Major. How'd that turn out?
Pretty good... BUT how'd your prediction of Roger Federer being DONE after the 2008 Australian Open turn out? 7 more majors and another 8 major final appearances on top of that since that prediction. Naaaaiiiiiled it.
His stats would be great if he got the minutes!

+20 in the 20 minutes he didn't play.
Your posts are turning into ESPN clickbait headlines.
Lonzo didn't get his ass put on the bench. He and others just didn't get their ass taken off the bench when the second unit was fkn killing it. +15, +9, +13, and +15 from Clarkson, Randle, Brewer and Bogut. Once the game was out of hand for the Suns there is no need to bring in some of your starters to finish a team off in the last few minutes.

In the world where you go by a KWALL post or you watch the game.
Saying he got his ass put on the bench implies he was removed from the game due to performance. I guess it sounds more exciting than him coming out during his normal rotation and the backups start raining 3's and build a lead large enough to let the bottom of the roster close it out.
I think hell be a bust. That's based on that shit game he plays and nothing more. If was in Minnesota or LA it wouldn't matter to me. Hype was ridiculous out here but it's quickly fading as it should.
Your team picked the wrong player. Long list of problems that will continue to be exposed as he makes his way around the league.
If he ever makes it to a playoff series teams will destroy him with that game he's playing.

You could be correct. As a tennis fan, I remember Richard Williams, Venus and Serenas father came on the scene and made comments about his kid dominating tennis. This was around 1997ish to 1999. The way he was making comments people thought he was crazy.

Richard Williams was portrayed by some as a manipulative, chain-smoking eccentric, another doting tennis father and coach trying to control his child's career.

are excellent young players. This is the future of the Lakers. Not Ball. He is terrible. And it sure isn't just the terrible shooting results at this point. His game is full of huge holes.
Agreed. Preferring Kuzma at this point.
A jumpshot can’t be taught, his passing and instincts can’t.

Forgetting about RGIII, huh?
Michael Jordan's rookie season:
28ppg
52% fg
6 dimes
6.5 rebounds
2.4 steals
Stan in LA everyone. Round of applause.

And so far Lonzo is beating him in 2 of the 3 important categories in 5 less minutes a game. Imagine those numbers if Lonzo didn't stink?
Hahaha. Now go look at Jordans first 10-12 games. Yeah. He's "beating him" in "important categories".
He has the worst offensive efficiency in the NBA. And it isn't just that pathetic mid range game. He can't finish inside and he can't shoot from 3.
What was that other stat on his shooting %? 2nd worst EVER after 12 games.
He's a mess.

Right on brother!
Has it occurred to you that his minutes are limited because he's not very good yet?
24 Pts
11 Rebs
11 Assists
In the other 11 games against non-Eric Bledsoe PG's, the #2 pick in the draft is averaging considerably less:
7 Pts
6 Rebs
6 Assists
Bit of a dropoff, yeah? And the 7 PPG is mostly due to some heavy chucking by a guy who's mostly laying bricks.
Lavar's kid is shooting an abysmal .250 on 3 pointers, and even that crapitude is inflated by Lonzo hitting 7/14 from deep against.... Eric Bledsoe.
Check the Lakers schedule. It's been soft to open the season but it gets a lot tougher after T-Day. Let's see how Lonzo is doing then.
