NFT: Lonzo Ball: 11 points, 10 Assists, 6 Rebounds...

In the 1st half! 1 turnover. Looking to become the youngest player in NBA History with a triple double. Guy will be a superstar. Just watch the next 10 years.

Superstar? Based on what he has shown on an NBA court? That's a joke.

He may develop. Maybe. Maybe develop into a decent NBA player.

Right now? He sucks ass. Awful NBA player. A liability on both ends. His game is full of holes right now. So easy to attack him on defense. On offense, so easy for his guy to lay off him and help others.

But he may have a triple double! Great. He also has the worst offensive game of any NBA player in the league right now.

Where were you when he was sucking big time?

In the off season his shooting motion needs to be broken down and rebuilt again to correct the technique he’s using. That side motion and then release is a not something that can be used consistently against NBA defenders.

1. Off the dribble if he’s going left to right across the key for instance and he wants to spot up for a jump shot, he’s actually brining the ball towards the defender when he shoots it.

2. The motion is too mechanical, not smooth and is a slow release.

3. The extra motion means less margin for error, more can go wrong with it and cause more frequent shooting slumps than a shooter with a normal release.

First decent game of his career.

you watching the games or just looking at the stats??

Teams are daring him to shoot. They are giving him room for open shots and he's missing. Badly.

The Micheal Carter Williams parallel is close. He can dish assists and get some rebounds, but he can't consistently score because his shot isn't good. Ball is even worse than that.
.
arcarsenal : 11/12/2017 3:48 am : link
He's not good.

He's a month into his career so he can get better - but I don't see him ever being anything close to a "star" player. He's going to have to turn into a hell of a playmaker because he sucks as a scorer. He's shooting like sub-30% from the field and his 3pt% is about one more bad game away from dropping under 20%.

His game is just ugly. I haven't been impressed at all.

He posted a triple double tonight - cool. It doesn't prove anything.

If you want to see a superstar in the making, watch the guy wearing #6 in New York city.

Just for comparisons sake - here are their per 36 minute numbers
Frank 8.4 points 9.1 assists 3.4 rebounds 2.8 steals
Ball 9.7 points 7.5 assists 7.0 rebounds 1.3 steals usage rate is 19.2
PER
Frank 8.5
Ball 8.9
Frank's shooting better than Ball as well.

Seriously, here's the thing with Lonzo
Stan in LA : 11/13/2017 2:10 pm : link
I've watched him play 60-70 games over the last 3 years and he is a basketball savant which is not readily apparent to someone who might have only watched him play a couple of times(unless you watched the other night). He's not an alpha player like Magic or Bird, he's a very passive player who plays with little emotion and little flair. But his play is subtle and his passes are always correct. Most of his turnovers are his teammates not catching perfectly thrown passes. He defers too much right now and as soon as he gets a bit more aggressive like he was at UCLA he'll be consistent every night. Right now he has a garbage roster to work with but that will change. He can shoot the ball from 3(he did all last year) and his only weakness shooting is a mid-range game which I feel confident he will figure out. He has star written all over him, but not in the traditional flashy player style. He's an acquired taste, but the more you see him, you will understand better.

Listed we had a lot of fun on this thread(Igawa! My only miss, LOL). But at the end of the day, you will all become believers and I will be giving that broken clock a run for its' money.

Hahaha. Now go look at Jordans first 10-12 games. Yeah. He's "beating him" in "important categories".

He has the worst offensive efficiency in the NBA. And it isn't just that pathetic mid range game. He can't finish inside and he can't shoot from 3.

Lonzo needs to play Eric Bledsoe every game
RGhost : 11/13/2017 10:48 pm : link
In two games against Bledsoe (Suns and Bucks) this year, Lonzo is averaging monster numbers:

24 Pts
11 Rebs
11 Assists

In the other 11 games against non-Eric Bledsoe PG's, the #2 pick in the draft is averaging considerably less:

7 Pts
6 Rebs
6 Assists

Bit of a dropoff, yeah? And the 7 PPG is mostly due to some heavy chucking by a guy who's mostly laying bricks.

Lavar's kid is shooting an abysmal .250 on 3 pointers, and even that crapitude is inflated by Lonzo hitting 7/14 from deep against.... Eric Bledsoe.

Check the Lakers schedule. It's been soft to open the season but it gets a lot tougher after T-Day. Let's see how Lonzo is doing then.

In the world where you go by a KWALL post or you watch the game.

Saying he got his ass put on the bench implies he was removed from the game due to performance. I guess it sounds more exciting than him coming out during his normal rotation and the backups start raining 3's and build a lead large enough to let the bottom of the roster close it out.

I think hell be a bust. That's based on that shit game he plays and nothing more. If was in Minnesota or LA it wouldn't matter to me. Hype was ridiculous out here but it's quickly fading as it should.

Your team picked the wrong player. Long list of problems that will continue to be exposed as he makes his way around the league.

If he ever makes it to a playoff series teams will destroy him with that game he's playing.

You could be correct. As a tennis fan, I remember Richard Williams, Venus and Serenas father came on the scene and made comments about his kid dominating tennis. This was around 1997ish to 1999. The way he was making comments people thought he was crazy.

Quote:
Richard Williams was portrayed by some as a manipulative, chain-smoking eccentric, another doting tennis father and coach trying to control his child's career.

Below is a good article. It's amazing how he was right. Both daughters did amazing in their careers and now Richard Williams may head into the HOF as their coach.

On 1-9 shooting, 0-6 from behind the arc. -18 for the game (worst on either team).

I am afraid...

Very afraid he's going to be a bust in relation to where he was picked

Very Jordan-like.
On the other hand, Kuzma is going to be terrific

are excellent young players. This is the future of the Lakers. Not Ball. He is terrible. And it sure isn't just the terrible shooting results at this point. His game is full of huge holes.

And did you see the scuffle last night?
