But "zombie" isn't an apt description. It didn't die and come back to life. It merely shed some of its mass.

But we obviously didn't understand the process of supernova as well as we thought we did.

Be more appropriate And we are woefully ignorant about a lot of things. A
Yet We’ve come so far so fast. I used to worry as a kid what would happen when our sun dies. Not an issue now lol. I’m more worried about my kids tuition and if they will get jobs with their fancy degrees.

Would be much bigger. This is a single star. The big boom supposedly created the whole galaxy? Astrophysics is a subject I think eve. The most average intelligent people really don't grasp.
