So my neighborhood playground used to have a bar that was great to go to pullups on, but that has since been damaged so I just bought the Iron Gym Doorway pullup bar. Says it's good up to 300 lbs; I'm 205 and I feel wobbly on it. Anyone use this and does it tend to hold up over time?
the one I have now have these square/rectangular pads to protect the door frame and stabilize. Can't remember the name but will look later. Bought it at Sports Authority (out of business).
very stable, and you get 3 grips, wide overhand, standard overhand, and verticle/parallel. You also use as an elevated pushup bar.
the problem I had with the Iron gym was that the foam wore out fast and I had to shim it with stuff, functional but not stable and friendly to the door trim.
Like this one so much I might order a backup at 40 bucks.
