Webb Being Inactive
Trainmaster : 11/12/2017 3:08 pm : link
is stupid IMHO. If (knock on wood) Eli were to go down, in what universe does it make sense to bring in Geno Smith?

I understand not having Geno Smith inactive in lieu of Webb, but make Webb active at least.

Yeah totally fucked without those guys. How can we possibly recover?
Our LB crew is pathetic

Look for SF to capitalize on that.

Could be a problem if the Niners can open up a bit for Hyde.

Absolutely correct. Shows a complete lack of perspective and long term thinking by the entire organization.
By Your Logic

Why start Eli? The same logic you use for using Webb instead of Smith works for starting Webb. Maybe these guys actually want to win a game?

I agree. We must be stupid to think about playing Webb a little bit.

+2. Webb at this point should be active. The Giants are 1-7. It's fine to start and play Eli, but Webb should come in if he gets hurt, or it's a complete blowout. Webb might not be the future, but Smith certainly isn't.
Webb is Nassib 2.0?

In theory, the Giants are still alive for a playoff birth. With that in mind you want your second best QB active, so you have a better chance of winning any game in which Eli doesn't play all or part of.

I know the chances of the Giants making the playoffs this year are extremely remote, but I assume this is the way the team is looking at it, because you don't give up on your season until you've been eliminated.

When they lose their 9th game absolutely any remote hope they might have had for the playoffs will be extinguished and then they can dress Webb.
I agree its stupid not to have Webb as the back up
bubba0825 : 11/12/2017 3:48 pm : link
However there is so much time left in the year that we can still have ample time to watch him...its sad in reality
Embarrassing.

I can see Webb being inactive
mpinmaine : 11/12/2017 3:54 pm : link
This organization respects Eli for what he has brought and accomplished in his career.
With all the speculation about whether or not to give Webb playing time ..etc...
...NYG do not want to have Eli go out there today with even the tiniest of concerns about if he will be pulled if he has a crappy first half or whatever,

This is my opinion, no matter who made the call on Webb.
Webb was nothing other than a developmental project
HomerJones45 : 11/12/2017 4:00 pm : link
what don't you people get about that.
Why do fans think Webb
BBelle21 : 11/12/2017 4:07 pm : link
Is more ready than Geno at this point in time? If he were ready, hed be active. Reese and McAdoo dont want to embarrass themselves putting Webb out there before hes somewhat capable.

Does it matter if hes ready? Were 1 and 7. He may be the future.

Even if he is he should be moved up to back up and be ready. Why not? The chances of them making the playoffs is nil. Smith won't be on the team next year. Makes sense. But McAdoo seems oblivious to roster management
