Next GM?

They could do worse. Plus, there's plenty of connections with better parts of Giants' history, for what that's worth.

John Dorsey
Steve in Greenwich : 11/13/2017 3:21 pm : link
should be in consideration. One of the best drafters of the past 20 years between the Packers & Chiefs. Was a big surprise when he parted ways with the Chiefs right before the season started, though the biggest knock on him was he's too much of a head scout than a general manager; but considering the Mara's right or wrong tend to run the coaching hires he might fit in here very well. He took over for Pioli after he failed miserably in KC.
Eric Decosta

But he seems content as assistant GM in Baltimore.

He's my #1 too, but I feel like its gonna be Gettleman, those nepotistic fucks
who is the guy the Giants lost

to the Lions, I believe....a couple of years ago?
He's had
ryanmkeane : 11/13/2017 3:30 pm : link
a long and successful career, but his most recent stint as an actual GM with the Chiefs led to some pretty horrendous drafts. If we think Reese is bad, check out those years with KC.
No to Pioli
Mike in NY : 11/13/2017 3:33 pm : link
He is an egomaniac who has his own scheme that he will run and will foist that on whoever is the next head coach. His drafts in Kansas City were awful. The person I most want is John Dorsey. Lost out in a power struggle (or eating contest) with Andy Reid, but he has done well rebuilding teams.

You make it seem that Gettleman collected shit talent for the Panthers
Dorsey

My #1 for the job also.
Carolina's talent almost entire pre-dates Gettleman
Greg from LI : 11/13/2017 3:42 pm : link
He didn't build much of anything there and managed to alienate almost everyone in the process. No thanks.

No thanks to Pioli either. Unless you're getting Bill himself, avoid anyone connected to the Patriots like the plague.
REESE

Either

Would be good and both would be a lot better then the misfit that is here.

Here is an interesting thought. With the Pats have traded away Brady's safety net, and if Bill doesn't believe Brady can play to 45 like Brady thinks- if the Giants offered Bill the final say on players, do you think he could come in and be a coach/GM, with a contracts guy holding the de facto title?

He wasn't terrible, he got them out of cap hell that Marty Hurney put them in (whose strangely GM again) but his drafts weren't stellar at all. Worth mentioning he also has a very grating personality and the players in Carolina celebrated his firing.
I like George Paton

You got anyone in mind?
Pioli's drafts have been worst than Reeses.
crackerjack465 : 11/13/2017 5:52 pm : link
Round 1:
DE Tyson Jackson - bust
S Eric Berry (his best pick)
WR Jonathan Baldwin - bust
DT Dontari Poe - good player, wasn't resigned

No 2nd rounders are still on the team - a few players hanging around the league.

Justin Houston was a good pick in round 3, and that's it.

Not much left after the 4th. None of those guys made much of an impact.

Eric Decosta is not going anywhere. He's got Ozzie's job when Ozzie retires.
How about

that finds starters in rounds 4 and later(also in 1-3).
Add on youth, speed to a young core.
Maybe even draft a LB at rd. 1 or 2. Shocking!!!!
TC, also associated with Falcons or connected
idiotsavant : 11/13/2017 8:26 pm : link
Steve Scarnecchia (Syracuse, Broncos, Pats, Falcons) , son of

Dante Scarnecchia (Pats, Colts, Pats),

also

Chris Morgan (OL at Oakland, Seattle, Falcons, played at Colorado) are all also associated with Falcons.

Fairly sure Francesser today mentioned that Pats and Bill B 'took Scarnecchia Sr. in to fix/save his OL' and spoke very highly of him.

Falcons OL has done well for 3 or 4 years or so, and seemed very well incorporated into overall scheme with regards to R/P.

One could to find a variety of spots for a variety of rolls.

There are others at Falcs also. RB coach.

Coaches, maybe a HC in the mix, or at least an OC. Or both along with the GM to create a cohesive thing.
