The team has indicated that they will bring Chad Green to spring training as a starting pitcher.
Not sure if that is good or bad news:
1. He was a great weapon out of the pen
2. He has two primary pitches that he throws. Most successful starter have a few more that they use to constantly keep hitters guessing.
If they find a way to move Ellsbury and keep the DH spot open for a combination of the extra outfielder, Sanchez and (hopefully) Otani, we'd have a great, young, flexible 25-man roster.

Didi had good words for Beltran as a mentor.
He'd be an interesting guy for the job.
Probably still a better alternative than not playing him
I have a feeling the yanks possibly move Frazier if the right deal comes along. He doesn't look at pitches and I'd have to think the yanks love hicks and Gardner. Plus they have outfielders down on the farm. Frazier showed enough to garner interest. Maybe the yanks feel it's wise to sell high. Who knows...

No mention of Frazier in the quotes I saw, but he certainly left open the possibility of an Ellsbury trade, and said he was gonna talk to Boras before he left these meetings.

Cash made it clear at the time of the trade that he was a rental, and he's usually blunt and honest about such things. Yankees have Headley under contract, a couple of prospects knocking on the door, and Machado hitting free agency next year - I can't fathom handing Toddfather a multi-year deal. I'm tired of Chase as well, but his proficiency at first base probably keeps him around as insurance at both corners.

True, but I thought that Fraizer's contributions, enthusiasm and leadership down the stretch may have changed Cash's thinking and possibly pushed Headley out the door.
No complaints about T. Frazier's contributions this year - good guy and he can pick it at 3B. But I can understand if he's viewed as a rental.
Headleys an OK vet bat but his defense sucks...but don’t want to bring some other vet in to block Torres.
So in sum, I suspect we suffer Headley until Torres is ready to take the job
I agree with this (as I think most do). They would have to eat a vast majority of this contract. I think it's worth it to do so. The contract is a sunk cost at this point.
Frazier and Headley are yesterdays news. Lets stop being so sentimental and step back and see what Todd Frazier brings to the table. Not enough.
Gardner has one year left on his deal. Want to let him move on for zilch or package him in a deal now? If you do the door opens for the red head. Fine with me if Clint Frazier is packaged in a deal as he is a viable chip to bring back some gold
Torres might be better at second then 3rd. Leaving Castro as trade bait or a DH?
I'd love to pick up some of those KC Royal FA's. If you picked up their gold glove first basemen then Bird becomes our DH. Or if instead you picked up Moustakas their lefty hitting 3rd basemen then Torres can move to 2nd where he belongs. Many possibilities. The future is now
I’m not anywhere ready to step down from my thrown. And especially not when the reason would be because someone suggested that Greg Bird be the DH. They are NOT adding to payroll to add a first baseman to have Bird DH. Not happening. Now please move back from my thrown. You’re embarrassing me being this close.
It would be nice to read a creative idea regarding the Yankees future from that quick wit of yours if you have that ability. But I can understand if you are still flummoxed by the Yanks showing Girardi the door . LOL
To be fair, that's also exactly what Cash should be saying if he's looking to trade Castro (or is entertaining offers for Castro). Headley doesn't really have trade value, so he wouldn't be damaging anything by putting it out there that Torres will compete with Headley. All that does is at least limp in on the idea that Torres could play 2B which would make Castro somewhat expendable.
Or maybe that's just my own wishful thinking that Cash would try to get rid of a guy who takes no walks, swings at everything and is clumsy in the field and that if he's as focused on analytics as he seems, he wouldn't take a ++ middle infield bat and stick him at a corner where his bat isn't nearly as big of an advantage.

That Cash expects Torres to push Headley at 3rd base. I may be reading too much into it, but does that mean they will not be bringing Fraizer back to man 3rd for another season?

What in God's name does Torres pushing Headley at 3rd base have anything to do with Castro?

Because Torres pushing Castro reduces Castro's trade value theoretically. Like I said, that could just be my own wishful thinking because I'd rather have Torres at 2B and would like to sell high on Castro rather than count on a guy with poor plate discipline and clumsy defense to maintain his trade value.
torres at 2B
dump headley and bring back frazier. he brings alot of emotion to the team and i think that counts for something
dump ells if you can, keep frazier with gardy having only one year left.

Best part of this exchange between you two, is neither of you have any idea how to spell throne.
I love the idea. It's exactly what a team with a 40 man roster crunch should be looking into.
