I'm guessing he's going to be gone for the remainder of the year with the back injury.
On a semi-related note, I like Pugh. He seems like a nice kid and a good team guy, but he just can't stay on the field. You just can't give him $10 million+ per year if he can't stay healthy.
I'm not even sure he's worth $10 million+ if he's healthy. 0 pro bowls, 0 all pro teams.

I respect the effort and hard work it takes and the physical demands of the game that injuries do play a part of especially on the lines and when playing at high speed at receiver or in the back of the defense.
But you can’t give a big deal to Pugh. Not with how much time he’s missed the last few seasons. I’d consider bringing him back but on a lower risk contract that is cap friendly.
Who would have thunk that right now as of considering offensive linemen for next year, the only anchor piece may very well be Ereck Flowers!

IDK of any potential non-G-man OL FAs for next year but even if Wheeler is ready for a role, 2 of either Pugh,Fluker, Richburg,Jerry, and Hart will be re-signed to start , and that group and any FA OL they sign if they can, due to contract mismanagement, will be vastly over-paid just so they can field an OL.
Imagine any 2 of those Giants coming back to be starters!
If THAT thought doesnt wanna make you kick some whose initials are the abbreviation of junior, I don't know what will.
Do you think it would have happened if the Giants were a winning team? It seems like during losing seasons that teams are quicker to place players on the IR. Not sure if that is a symptom of losing or if it done to try to mask a poor job of coaching and managing a team.

You seem to be assuming that some other team will be willing to give him a 3 year $30 million deal. I'm not sure that's a valid assumption.

He has an $8.8M salary this year. Seeing what others have signed for this past year, Pugh was taking note. Even if he only looks for a small bump in his salary, does anyone think he is worth $9M/yr?
Clear message that "we're trying to get through the season and then clean house.?

I don't see why we'd expect to find any players out there at this point in the season. It's scraping the barrel time.

To the practice squad. Dilly dilly!

Looks like he'll be missing more games for sure.
