Eric from BBI : Admin : 11/20/2017 2:10 pm
Defensive Tackle Damon Harrison Sr.

Conference Call, November 20, 2017

Q: Talk us through the interception.

A: It was just a play that we knew they like to run and Jason (Pierre-Paul) did a heck of a job of seeing it and recognizing it and getting a good hit on him. I was just in the right place at the right time. I didn’t expect for it to happen, but I was pretty satisfied with the outcome.

Q: Did you get to keep the ball?

A: Yeah, I gave it to my son.

Q: What is the mood like in the building today?

A: I haven’t had a chance to really get in the locker room yet, to be honest with you, so I’ve just been in the training room.

Q: What does it say about the team with how everybody listened to the coach’s messages on Wednesday and how everybody bounced back and corrected all of the things you have talked about correcting?

A: Yeah, it was never a question about effort, to be honest with you. It’s just horrible technique or just really, really bad execution and not doing something right, which could be interpreted as not having great effort. But it was never a question of that. I know those guys, especially the ones who have been getting the brunt of all of that, so they just really focused in and honed in on the game plan and executed it, which is why you guys saw what you saw yesterday.

Q: Do you think it’s going to be easier to maintain the momentum with a short work week?

A: Yeah, because there will probably be some carryover from this past week and you would like to hope that it will be all of the positives. But you just have to get in there and take care of your body because in another three days, we have another game. So it’ll help, but at the same time, physically, you’ll just have to be able to perform at that high level again.

Q: Did you see a different level of energy from Coach (Ben) McAdoo yesterday? Was he more animated?

A: I mean, he’s always like that. I’m just guessing you guys just finally got a glimpse of it, but he’s animated a lot of the times. Maybe a little more yesterday because we had a lot of positive things going on, which we haven’t had that much of this year. So I feel, yeah, you can say that.

Q: What did it mean to the team to pull out so many trick plays?

A: I mean, I guess you can just create some fan excitement. For us as players, really, you got to ask that question to the guys on the offensive side of the ball because it really doesn’t affect us too much on defense. It’s good for entertainment.

Q: With six games to go, do you guys look to play the spoiler? What is the approach?

A: It’s the same approach we’ve had all year. We go into these games expecting to win. That doesn’t change anything whether the playoff hunt is over or whether we’re still in it or not, the approach is the same. We have to win these football games, no matter who or where we’re playing.
