Looking at the HC prospects out there, I'm seeing Harbaugh as among the best guys who may be on the market. Is he a bad fit in anyone's estimation or could he be a good guy who can turn our leadership problem around? He seemed to have a lot of success in SF despite his short stay. I'd take playoff appearances in 3 out of 4 years...
Thanks for the heads up. You don't think the lure of a franchise like the Giants would do it, eh?
Anything is possible. But I just can't possibly imagine Harbaugh leaving yet. Not yet...
Plato...those who are floating Harbaugh's name are eyeing him for both GM/HC. I can't see it happening, but just saying.
Right. But still worth a call...
But it's a mess there. An outside-the-box choice is possible.
If he was willing to come here, I'd certainly be interested - I think he's a very good football coach.
I'd prefer his brother, actually - but the Ravens would be stupid to let him walk.
Mara and co aren't going from Simple Ben to Weirdo Harbaugh.
That San Francisco team back in the day had enough talent that my dingleberries could have coach them to a NFC championship game.
How do you know they have no interest in him? Can you actually provide proof of that or are you just stating opinion as fact?
But yes, the GM spot needs to be filled first.

he hasn't achieved the level of success there he wants as his lasting impact. His wife and family love Ann Arbor. I just don't see it.

I think he’s a better pro coach than college coach.
Have a source or are you talking out your ass?
harbaugh's Home - ( New Window )
That said. The GM is a much more important hire for this team right now and needs to be locked in before the HC is solidified.
He can make it right, and forget this picture ...
too.
Out of the eight 49s clearly visible; four couldn't bear to look, in this photo. My biggest sports moment, sitting in the stands at Candlestick that night !
He loves Michigan.
He went to high school literally across the street from the Big House. He is at home, and he is a huge celebrity in his home town.
He is only three years in and has unfinished business.
I would be shocked if he left Michigan.
He doesn't have the personality to recruit. Too intense and completely lacking in charm, unlike, say Nick Saban, who can lay that ole southern charm on the family of big recruits.
Clemson and Georgia 2
Still time but recruiting does not seem to be Harbaugh's strength. He is better suited for the NFL.
He is a terrific coach and I would love the Giants to get him and I think he would take the job if they made him one of the top five paid coaches in the NFL.
But like Charlie said above, it's unlikely the Maras are going to hire a lightening rod like Harbaugh.
No.
Fucking.
Way.

His act wears thin after a few years.
Guys like Harbaugh and Rex Ryan will almost always give an initial bump and they'll have moderate success. But they have an act that only works when teams are winning. Once the losses pile up, their brusque attitudes and sarcastic quips get both them and the team a lot of negative attention.
Not many established teams want to intentionally bring the circus to town.
