BBI Live Broadcast with Dan Duggan - Tomorrow at 1 pm

gidiefor : Mod : 12/6/2017 9:27 am
We are going to try to do a live broadcast tomorrow from outside Giants Headquarters during practice with myself and Dan Duggan of NJAdvanceMedia.com. As a NY Giants beat reporter, Dan has been right on top of the events leading to the firing of Coach McAdoo and Jerry Reese, and will field questions and give his insight on what unfolded, why it happened, and what he sees happening going forward.

The link to the broadcast will appear on our Big Blue Interactive Youtube Channel. The link address of the live channel will be posted tomorrow morning before the broadcast.

Please post your questions for Dan on this thread below. We will be giving credit to posters that pose the questions used in the broadcast, and will try to get to, and flesh out the topic, on as many of them as we can before Dan has to run off for interviews after tomorrow's practice.
Nice. Two Part Question
jvm52106 : 12/6/2017 10:25 am : link
1) Is the feeling in and around the team that Ben McAdoo felt Eli's style was a bad fit for his offense and that it would have performed better with Smith (in general and not just the last few weeks)?

2) With Eli back starting and Webb now #2, is there a thought of releasing Smith to give him a chance to help someone else out and open a spot on the roster for a body (defensively or offensively)?

Thanks
Dan

From what you are hearing who are the favorites to be named the next HC and GM of this team franchise and is there any chance that the Giants will consider Gruden?
Given our lack of contingencies in place

particularly regarding the OL and LB positions going into the 2018 season, how do you foresee the Giants supplementing those position groups? Will they go to the free agent market to shore up each one?

What would your plan be for fixing the OL? LB corps?
Can you give any insight...

into how Webb managed to be upgraded to the #2 position on the depth chart? We've heard many on BBI opine that he "couldn't beat out" Geno Smith for the #2 spot this year. Is the perception that Geno was that bad, or has Webb done something that good to pass him up?

Or is it just a preference of Spags/owners? (that's my guess)

Also - have you heard anything regarding Eli's prep for the upcoming game? Is he planning to play the entire game, or does he have any sense that he might be benched if things get out of hand?

In short - what specifically changed for Eli between what was originally proposed to him and what he's being asked to do now?

with the state of the team, does Eli want to stay with the Giants next year in a rebuild? The Giants may not be calling it a rebuild but I think it is at least a partial rebuild ... heavy roster turnover.

Do the Giants want Eli back next year?

I guess since Dan is around the guys

In the locker room, from camp till now, what is his take or opinion on the locker room's pulse currently? Do things just "feel" different now that McAdoo is gone? Have the attitudes of the men in the locker room seem to have changed in anyway? Thanks Dan D, you are way better than Dan G! Just remember, yes Reese got fired, but that doesn't mean you should have been the Giants G.M LOL JK but seriously thanks, and thanks gidiefor, I see you coming for Hanlon's spot!!! I see you..

I know it was reported that Webb was promoted to the number w but that report seems premature right now.

This is from Spags'press conference today:

Quote:
Q: Geno will be the No. 2 quarterback this Sunday?

A: Right now. Right now.

Q: Does Davis Webb’s workload increase or how will you handle that moving forward?

A: It has been increased. There has been an ongoing plan. You don’t see it behind the works, but there have been efforts there. I’ll call it drills where Davis has done things where he would do as he prepared to be a one or a two. So, that’s ongoing. Where we go with whoever the two is, we’ll just take it week-to-week.

Q: Davis Webb will handle scout team this week and isn’t going to split duties?

A: Probably not this week.
Appreciate the Input and questions here

Dan I will be filming just outside Giants HQ today at 1pm and I'm not sure of the available wifi signal there -- it was a problem when we did our tapings during camp -- in testing out the live stream app it needs a pretty strong signal so this will probably not be a live chat but a taping that I will pass along to Eric as soon as is practicable. Those of you who are subscribers to the Big Blue Interactive Youtube Channel receive notice as soon as the video posts on You Tube and will have access to it first.
Dan question about the lack of leadership on this team
Rjanyg : 12/7/2017 12:16 pm : link
I think that the locker room needs more leaders ( Strahan, Tuck, Jacobs, Rolle ) and even though Eli is a leader, he seems to do it quietly. Do the players look at JPP as a leader? Collins?

Also, what is wrong with our pass rush?
