He does, and I think you're right - he is very sensitive.

I also think it's hard to level with someone in his position. It's easy to comment on how a guy should or shouldn't carry himself as a non-celebrity.

I have no idea how I would handle myself if thousands of people were providing commentary on my every breath. Some players handle it really well and know how to block out the noise, other guys struggle with it.

It's usually pretty easy for me - if a guy isn't getting into any legal trouble and isn't causing dissension amongst his teammates, what he does off the field really means nothing to me.

My hope is that as Odell gets older, he'll continue to grow as a person and block out all the outside bullshit and just go out there and play football.

Excessive celebration stuff - 100% - but look at the circuses that we see after every TD now. It's hard to get penalized for it since they've changed that rule.

I think people need to take a hard look at their reasoning behind their criticism. Do you really think the player is a negative to the football team or do you just really dislike the person?

I suspect most negative opinions of him are rooted heavily in the latter and those same people try to craft narratives based on the former to drive their agenda.

Be honest with yourself when you think about this player. He had one very forgettable day in 2015. He's taken a couple of other stupid penalties. That's about it. Stop with the kicking net. It's no different than a player flipping a cooler after a bad series. Happens almost every fucking week. Spare me.

Now, weigh that against the dynamic, game-breaking ability he's displayed on the football field.

It's an easy call for me.

What are you talking about "craft a narrative" he provides this stupid shit himself, you don't have to craft anything. All he has to do is grow up a little bit and he won't be a target for DB's to get under his skin. And oh yeah, show up in a playoff game like Eli does!!!!

How do you feel about AJ Green? Does he bother you as much as Beckham does?

Be honest.

I think OBJ left out the part where Brady peed like a dog in the end zone, proposed to a kicking net and tried to spear another player, pretty selective. Don't compare yourself to Brady you're just embarrassing yourself!

If you want to keep making excuses for this clown go ahead, I'm not saying trade him, he just needs to grow up. Just funny to me that you're saying he should show up for playoff games like Eli did...

Eli was absolutely pitiful in his first playoff game. 10 completions, 113 yards, 0 TD's and 3 INT's.

But for fans like you, the book is closed on Beckham after one playoff game. Nevermind the fact that players like Rice. Brown, Green, and countless other high profile WR's had very non-descript playoff debuts.

Then, the suspension gets labeled as not an on-the-field one like deflated balls were used in the garage.

Look - Beckham acts like an immature idiot at times. It's OK to admit it, but acting as if Brady has never taken a personal foul or been suspended when he has:

- Been suspended for more games than Beckham AND
- Has 3 flags for unsportsmanlike conduct (not personal fouls, so I guess it is splitting hairs)

Not sure why that even needed to be posted.

Obviously, I assumed, my mistake, people had the mental depth to apply that statement to Beckham's "claims" based on the Instagram video related to on-field emotional displays.

Brady was suspended for conduct detrimental to the league for failing to comply with the investigation - obviously I wasn't referring to that.

If Beckham's emotional displays were limited to the same ones Brady exhibited in the instagram do you really believe people would have criticized Beckham for them?

You know the answer to that.

it's no.

And even if they were similar, but Beckham had the accolades and success Brady has, do you think he'd be criticized, but Brady wouldn't be?

Again, you know the answer to that.

It's no.

So the double standard exists b/c the two have different levels of success on-field and Brady's on-field emotion has not hurt his team.

That was the point, but please focus on the not so relevant points that are unrelated.

Rap fucking sucks these days. It's such unimaginative, auto-tuned trash. Like a botched cross between shitty club & and shitty hip hop. Drake is awful. I know Kendrick Lamar is crazy popular. I think he sucks too.

Not even a "in my day...!" type commentary. I think there's tons of good music these days...Arctic Monkeys being an example of a sick 21st century band...but rap is seriously struggling right now.

This is purely speculation on my part, but I would posit that the same personality that makes him highly sensitive to criticism is what drives him to work hard and prove himself on the field. It's tough to separate the two, IMO.

Thank you for showing everyone on this thread what a blind anti-Beckham agenda looks like.

Beckham had the most prolific first three seasons in NFL history for a WR. But in your mind, he has nothing but a distasteful TD celebration (in what was a highly charged week across the NFL) and then a series of actions mocking the media for making a big deal out of him tossing the kicking net.

I'm just thankful that you won't be on the Giants' interview list for GM. What a joke of a fan you are.

Few things more subjective than music, obviously, but I gave the guy a fair chance after hearing so much praise and I was surprised by how underwhelmed I was. I hated it.

This is considered one of his better songs, no? Ridiculous lyrics and wack vocal effects which are so distracting.

All good if you like it. Again, good music is subjective, and I know he's widely respected by other musicians. But it and so much other contemporary rap just sounds like shit to me compared to Nas, Gangstarr, early Roots, prime Eminem, Common, Tribe, etc etc.

I can't believe how popular Drake is.

I'm not a gratuitous Kendrick hater...I went in wanting to like him because most rap I'm listening to is 10+ years old (new Jay-Z and a couple others excepted).

I'm just really down on the state of rap music right now. Guitar-centric 80s & 90s rock evolved into something different but still solid with your Arctic Monkeys/Queens of the Stone Age/Strokes/LCD/Black Keys/Tame Impala/etc. but I just have not seen the same solid evolution from rap.

I'll leave it at that so as not to further miller a football thread.

We weren't but Beckham had to tweet comparing himself to Brady (GOAT?) because he's been on the sidelines and no one is paying attention to him. (Hey, look at me!)

The caption "GOAT chasin" fully implies that he knows he's not on Brady's level. But that doesn't fit your slanted narrative, so why mention it?

What slanted narrative, just calling it like it is, when you compare yourself to a 5-time SB champ, you lose, no matter what caption you may add. You end up looking stupid and bringing ridicule on yourself, but hey at least you're being talked about and isn't that what he desperately needs...attention!

If you're that unaware of your own bias, I don't know what to tell you. But you're free to see things however you want. Just don't kid yourself that you're "calling it like it is."

Really not sure what "bias" you're talking about, you seem to have your own. We'll try this again- when you compare yourself to Brady when you have won absolutely nothing...you lose!

It was obvious based on the caption that he was saying that he aspires to be on Brady's level, but carry on.
