I get the need to tank, but this is Dallas and Dallas needs the game. Sorry, but I NEED to see the Giants beat Dallas a lot more than I need a draft slot upgrade for April.
I get both sides but if a Giants fan living in this area doesn't want to beat Dallas this week I have a hard time believing you're a die hard NYG fan.
Make Dak beat them which he's shown very little ability to do on his own. Easier said than done though. They ran all over the Redskins who should have had a shot.
I have been a Giants fan since 1955 and in none of those years Â
I like Darnold, but he's not John Elway. In situations like this people can act like the hyped prospect is the last opportunity that will ever avail itself to acquire a quarterback.
....maybe for someone like Jerry Reese who's biggest flaw was not managing the draft and trading in and out of spots sure position can be overrated.
But you can't tell me draft position is overrated when the 49ers were able to take the Bears 3rd and 4th round picks to move up 1 spot from 3 to 2 in last years draft.
If we end the year @ 2 and for some reason don't think a QB is worthy of that spot, damn sure a few teams still think a QB will be worth that spot and don't tell me acquiring more draft picks because we have better draft position is overrated...that is BOGUS!
I can't bring myself to root for us to lose especially to fucking Dallas. However we need to. Unlike those 6-10 years, that late win doesn't mean dropping form 7-10. We are legitimately in position to pick #2 now but with the Broncos/Colts and Bears siting in 3 wins a win could easily drop us to 5 (I think the Broncos and Colts play each other so they both can't lose out). I'm sorry dropping from 2 to 4 or 5 is huge. It puts us out of play for a QB.

interests of the team and any glory would be fleeting. I expect that the team will give a good effort, but I don't really have any reason to think they will win.
this is one of the situations though where there will be no sting if we lose.
Except - I REALLY don't want to see Eli play a whole game that is a repeat of the opening game against Dallas. Please, please, please, don't play a pathetic offensive game against this team. Eli asked for the job back and it was given to him. We need the best Eli can give. If we get a terrible offensive showing I would hope to give Webb a shot, and since it seems clear that isn't going to happen I just want a good offensive showing.
At the least, even if we suck on offense, I'm really rooting for Eli to have a great day in the Meadowlands.
I just don't understand how you can be a fan of a team and ever root Â
Against it. I am old, a Giant fan for 70 years and have never and will never root for them to lose. All you so called fans rooting for a draft pick, I have no respect for you or your intelligence or loyalty. As a veteran I'd never want to be in helicopter with you. The draft is a lottery, the Giants are a love affair.

Go win these last four games.
Hard to argue against this. Especially since three of the four are divisional. Losing to the skins is fine as they aren't going anywhere anyway. Beating Philly while knocking them down a seed and all but eliminating dallas would be just fine.

Not a vet but a fan almost as long and I agree with you.

We're mathematically eliminated from postseason play. Therefore, it's very easy to argue that winning the last four games serves absolutely zero purpose at all. Improving draft position isn't just about the 1st pick or the QBs available near the very top. It increases the value of picks in all subsequent rounds. Wouldn't the same people who whined incessantly about Jerry Reese never trading down like to be in a position to acquire more picks in a trade similar to the one the Giants made to get Landon Collins (2nd, 4th, and 7th round picks to move up 7 spots)? There's rationality and then there's emotion. Improving the team should be the ultimate goal and there's really no logical argument that moving down in draft order improves the team in any way.
As for the idea that these games mean more/anything at all because they're in the division, winning week 17 in Washington last season (and keeping them out of the playoffs) didn't prevent the masses from wanting Ben McAdoo's scalp 12 months later nor did it buy him any extra time from ownership. So I think it's safe to question how much winning these games would actually mean.
I can't help but root for the win, but this game is pretty meaningless. The Cowboys are pretty much already out of it, beating them won't feel as good as I would like it to.
Thank you Del Shofner, a great name and one of the great wr's in Â
If we beat the Dallas Fucking Cowboys TWICE. We could lose all the rest and I would still be happy.
I HATE the fucking franchise and all it stands for.
But fine with a L under the circumstances.
I expect they play hard..but just too injured on D, and Boys have too much speed for our generic brand LBs. Beasley,, Williams, will have a field day on 3rd down deep middle slants, getting 20-25 on 3rdand 8 when we do our customarily ineffective blitz. Just the way it is.
But......GO GIANTS.
I want to beat the Dallas goddamn Cowboys!!!!

Fuck that fucking team forever.
Go win these last four games.
So, yup, just as much of a fan as everyone put understand the importance of the draft. Keep racking up those L's boys.

bingo
That turned out pretty well.
Some fans want the immediate and short term satisfaction a win brings, others are more concerned with the long haul.
Neither preference makes you a better fan.

Also, no matter where a team picks, they are always in position to draft an impact player. Getting it right? That’s another story.

wouldn't you rather not have to trade a 2nd rd pick?
a couple wins isn't worth a 2nd round pick when you are out of the playoffs.
Agreed.
I HATE the fucking franchise and all it stands for.
Our offense can't score 20.....
Simple mathematics.....
Only way we win, Dallas lays a huge goose egg...
Del Shofner was a Ram.
YA was picked up from 49ers for 2nd year G Lou Cordeleone.
Anyway: 70 years!! And I brag on my 60! Hope I can get to 70 fan years.
Congrats....Respect out to you.

I hated every second of that game.
Just could not stomach it.
If you want to see Webb, that can still happen as an organization, but the way this went down...
They really have the horses to do it even with Eli starting ,I mean 24 guys on IR ?
