(in the end, the only purpose it served) .... was to end Eli's streak.
I don't think Mac really planned it that way (he has proven he can't game plan ANYTHING on any given Sunday) but, in the end - that was the only outcome.
They didn't improve their record.
The head coach was fired.
Eli was benched on Monday and then re-instated the following week.
such a waste. What a S*** Show of a season this has been and we still have almost a 1/4 of a season left. Thank God that guy is gone ....
It would be nice to see everyone in Eli jersey's and a huge standing ovation when he runs onto the field on Sunday.
So the only thing that Sunday's game accomplished -

it did take the pressure off of Spags if he wants to put Webb in to see what he can do at the end of the season. The record was great but its over and not a big deal at this point wasn't going to pass Farve anyway.

I don't know why everyone was so quick to decide he wasn't going to pass Favre. It would have required approx. 5 seasons. While not likely, it wasn't impossible. He said he wanted to play beyond the next couple of years. Now, it may not have happened with the Giants, but it was a possibility that Eli could have started for 5 years.
Glad to see ELI and Spagnuolo still standing. Forget the rest. Both are keepers and Spags may become the new Belichek or great DC in the league. ELI still has it and with some smart personnel decicions win another SB

Spags may become the new Belichick?
Man, some of the stuff I read around here is just bizarre.
