Cornerback Eli Apple

Postgame vs. Philadelphia, December 17, 2017

A: It went down to one play. It was a great effort by everybody, everybody went and played their hearts out. We tried our best.

Q: How did it feel for you to get back out there?

A: It felt great, it felt great being back out there with the guys. I told them that too during the game. I just tried to do everything I could on my part to help us win.

Q: What was the most important part about being back out there with your guys?

A: Just playing for each other, man, that’s what it comes down to. You can throw records out. It’s all about looking somebody else in the face and being accountable and being able to go out there and give it your all.

Q: Did you know what the plan was going to be regarding your playing time before the game?

A: No, I really didn’t. I knew at some point I was going to be playing, though.

Q: Did you feel rusty?

A: I was a little rusty, I’m not going to lie. But I think as the game was going on, I got better.

Q: What happened on the touchdown with DRC (Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie)? It seemed like there was a miscommunication?

A: Yeah. He had jumped my guy’s route and then his guy stepped over. But just got to get the communication down, that’s day one.

Q: What has this past month been like for you?

A: It’s been a lot, it’s definitely been a lot. But just continue to try to grow and lean on the leaders here and get better every day.

Q: How badly were you hurt?

A: It wasn’t that bad. It was just a little stinger.

I hope they move on

from a less desirable Apple after the season. The kid needs
a damn rattle to play with, don't need to take care of babies in the NFL. This is a big boy's league, tired of this kid!
Maybe they can trade him to a team that has their own
'problem child', a change of scenery for two players.

He has a guaranteed contract and talent. Hopefully a new coach can get through to him.
That was a fine presser

Not nearly the tone that some of the press made it out to be. Could he have phrased the one question more PC? Sure but I don't think that constitutes throwing DRC under the bus.

I hope he is able to grow and mature as a player and person from this year because he does have the physical talent to play.

.

The young man they trade for in my scenario would presumably
have a 'guaranteed contract' as well. If the Giants hypothetically make a trade, both teams would take on the existing contracts, no big deal.
I am not seeing all this talent as well.
Reese blew it not trading up for
Conklin two picks head of this baby! In fact, two teams
traded ahead of the Giants that year, while Reese was asleep
at the switch yet again!

He gave zero effort

On that 3 play series where Philly scored on that long screen pass. He just watched on 2 plays as the runner went by him a few feet away and he also backed off from going for an Int.

The kid is soft
