I don’t know why but I’ve always thought of Atlanta as a soft NFL team. Even last year just before they choked away the Super Bowl I was thinking they were a soft team. Rams have an edge to them this year and while I know they’re new to the playoffs I think being at home is a real advantage for them and real disadvantage for the Falcons.
I know a lot of people don't like Al Michaels (and I can appreciate the reasons why), but I like how he made that snarky comment after Ed Hercules said they were going to take a look at it after the commercial break ended.

I like Al, too. I can't believe he had to apologize on the air for the Harvey Weinstein crack.
I still don't understand what Atlanta was doing calling a time out after the first play of the drive. The Rams were passing - they were obviously trying to score on this drive. All the Falcons did was help them get down the field.
For Falcon fans, that timeout by Quinn must bring back memories... Â

can beat Philly next week? I hate the Eagles so much, and I want to see one of these teams knock them out next week. Will it be Atlanta? So far, Goff looks like shit on his home field.....I doubt he'll be able to accomplish anything in the cesspool of Philly.....with their miscreant fans making all of their obscene cheers.
Rams D failed there. They're wearing down - can probably thank Cooper for that.
Goff made some good throws but most rookie QB's struggle when they get their first taste of the playoffs - this was no different for him. He'll learn from it. He made a major leap from year one to year two. Rams led the NFL in points this year.
They have a good foundation there - ATL/Ryan just have more experience.
And just like that, Gurley runs for about 50 yards on 2 carries.
And just like that, the Rams are still losing by 6.
Which has absolutely nothing to do with Todd Gurley.
Carry on.
If you think Gurley is playing like a MVP today I don’t know what to tell you.
This game is just more evidence why banking on a RB is a mistake.
I still have no idea what point you're trying to make.
The Giants should avoid Saquon Barkley because Pharaoh Cooper lost two fumbles, the Rams gave up 26 points, and Jared Goff hasn't even completed 15 passes?
Gurley will end this game with over 100 scrimmage yards, but it's his fault the Rams are going to lose?
Wtf? You are truly an abysmal poster. A broken freaking record. Just stop making a fool of yourself.
Thanks for your Joe Public hot takes. Easy to make money off of.
Gurley has over 100 yards on only 14 carries. What a weird fucking game to use as an example of RBs being insignificant. Why aren’t you blaming the defense? I guess Aaron Donald shouldn’t have picked either, huh? That’s about as random as you somehow cherry picking Gurley out of the crowd. Why does he take more heat than any of the other first round picks on the Rams?
Just a completely asinine perspective. I don’t want Barkley either but to use this game as an example as to why he’s not worthy is simply mind boggling stupidity. There’s 53 guys on the team, I guess all of them and the positions they play are not important. Or is it just Gurley?
no mention of the incomplete called complete on 4th down Â

You’re the one who said the Rams were going to win because of Gurley. Well, they didn’t win.
Actually, the 99 Rams offense was quite similar to what many teams are running now.
I'm still waiting for you to explain how your point is at all relevant.
It sounds like you just really don't want Barkley @ 2, so you're forcing some narrative that carries no weight.
You're against taking Barkley 2nd, and have also now said that if NYG take a QB there "it will be a disaster" - what exactly do you propose they do if they don't get a trade down offer that satisfies them?
How the fuck you come up with them losing as an indictment on Saquon Barkley being picked 2nd is one of the most incredibly stupid things I’ve ever read on this site.
I should be shocked though. You’re the guy trumpeting Orlando Brown with the 2nd overall pick...

Orlando Brown? Yikes.
That would be an awful pick @ 2 overall. I don't think he's even the best OT in this draft - and he may not even be suited to play on the left side in the NFL.
We might see a RB renaissance of sorts. I think so many defenses have been moving to smaller, faster personnel, and are not as well-suited to handle persistent running attacks as they were recently.
To use as evidence of an elite RB not being worthy of a high pick.
For one, it's not even over... It may wind up going the opposite of your point just like the Titans Chiefs game did.
I said Marriotta looked like shit and he did. A would be INT fluke TD pass to himself doesn’t change that.
What’s more relevant is 45th pick in the draft Derrick Henry had a career day.
Wtf here we go again... and the best qb playing was a 6th rounder. Might as well not draft a qb high either. Matter of fact I say don't draft anyone high. You can get any position in the latter stages of the draft.
Great players are valuable no matter what the position. Why are we over thinking and debating this crap. Need a qb? Love the qb? Draft the qb. Need a rb? Love the rb? Draft the rb. Take the best player. Gamble at times but don't get too cute, especially in regards to the Qb.
A great rb would help this team win games. The best rb prospect is more likely to shine in the NFL Than the lesser under the radar rb. Simple as that.
Just like every position, I doubt it would be hard to find examples of highly picked RB's who were much better than every RB picked in the 2nd through 7th rounds, and even better than the other first round RB's if their class.

31-27 Rams
You think the Falcons will hold the Rams to a field goal?
I’m going to assume you’re joking.
I think the Rams defense helps make the difference.
Rams 34 Falcons 16

I would definitely be into doing a private league one day. How much do you guys kick in weekly?
Atlanta didnt call a timeout, the Rams did

25 bucks
90 to the winner
55 for 2nd
35 for 3rd
cutting Matt Bryant

Give Bryant credit. He’s an amazing story.
Eh - ATL is selling out to stop him and Goff isn't making them pay. He's completed 11 passes.

Was just going to say the same thing. That was just a good hard block to the chest. Didn't hit him in the head.

That's odd... you keep implying that elite RB's can't impact games.
Probably not, the Titans had much more time

That’s exactly my point. Why take a RB 2 when you can get one at 45 or the 3rd round?
That's a nice young team Rams have though. Drafted well the last 4 years, and good trades too.

Eh....Faulk and Ron Rayne maybe. You're selling Jacobs short.
Anyway, the draft is so deep at RB. No need to pick one at 2.

You don't pick a RB at 2 when you have multiple teams needing young potential franchise QBs and there might be 3 QBs taken at the top this year.

If they didn't let the playoff jitters get to them and ran their offense centered around Gurley, they probably win.
Then again, Reid abandoned Hunt after Kelce was hurt, which is even more head-scratching.
That was crazy - Quinn had 3 timeouts left he wasn't going to use and didn't throw the flag. Also why no 2-pointer at 25-13?
