All the talk about trading down in the first.

I really feel we take a QB with the second big of the draft. Than in the second day when teams look at the board all night long we trade back a view picks to a team that wants a player badly on the draft board and we get extra draft picks to build the Oline and maybe add a stud RB.

yu, bemay. Surenot tho.
If we trade back in the first we will get future first round pics

Those can be used to move up in future drafts and get a better prospect at the qb position if the org isn’t sold on the qbs in this class as being championship caliber guys.

That would also likely net us a number of picks in the early second round. Otherwise I stay home in the first two rounds and consider moving back in the third.

I feel will take a QB with the second because it is a huge need just like O-Line and we can build the O-line in the second esp adding early round picks for trading down in the second day.

This is one of the better QB draft classes in a very long time.
If this is one of the best QB draft classes why can't we trade down
wgenesis123 : 1/6/2018 4:04 pm : link
and still get a QB?
Because QB is a unique position

You take one if you have conviction on one and do whatever you have to to get THAT guy (like what the Eagles did with Wentz). You don't "trade" down and take whoever is left. That's a good way to try to put a "square peg in a round hole".
After the combines and pro days the issues should be clearer. I can see them working something with Cleveland if they have a strong conviction on one of these guys.

totally agree you take who you feel is the best and fits what you do.
Trading

back in the second round a few spots would be a way to help rebuild the line and maybe add that stud RB.
Not a chance it will happen.

QB time.
Whoops

Misread that.

The second day of the draft allows for more mobility.
There is a huge difference

In point values on the value board between the top couple of picks in the first versus the second. If you trade back in the first you can pick up multiple draft picks in the second and third rounds. Trading back in the second doesn’t do that.

If you trade back from 2 to 6 in the first, that is worth 1000 points which is worth 2-3 players in the second round. Trading back from the 2 to the 6 in the second round only nets you 50 points which is equivalent to one player near the bottom of the 4th round.

Not that I am advocating the Giants do that but the premise that you can do the same thing by trading back in the second isn’t really that effective.

I believe that taking the BEST QB in round one is the best value period so in the second round we can trade back and add O-Line talent. The fact is teams seem to trade up in the early second because it is the second day and they have really looked at all the talent and want a certain player so they are will to give up a extra 3rd and so on.
The draft pick trade value board sometimes
mdthedream : 1/6/2018 5:59 pm : link
is not used esp if a team wants the QB in the second.

This is what we heard in last year's draft, that the upcoming one this year will have a better draft of qb's.....

Only problem is, the qb's didn't read the memo....
I don't remember anyone

saying last years draft was a good QB draft going in. This year is. Next year we might not get a high enough draft selection to pick one.

This! Unless you believe that the Giants are destined to become the NFC's Browns & have a #1-2 pick every year.If DG believes Rosen,Darnold or Allen are our future franchise QB, you make the pick. It seems there's a large amount of people who want to trade & amass a pile of high picks. I certainly understand that logic, but for me, in the NFL w/o a quality QB,you don't win! So again,if DG views any of the 3 as "our guy" you make the pick & hope it's the right one so that we don't have to be picking this high again for a long time!
The "value board"

is mostly obsolete at this point.

The Eagles were not sure if they would get Goff or Wentz at the time of their trade. Saying they had a "conviction" on Wentz is not accurate.
