He got exposed being on the outside. The slot is where Cruz needed to be in order to get his full potential, but we had Shep there.
Physically he looked good early in the year when he was making at least one big catch every game, but then they phased him out of the offense.
He got phased out because he couldn't gain separation anymore the way he had been able to before the knee injury.
He couldn't even make the Bears roster - a team that saw Kendall Wright lead them in receiving with just over 600 yards.
He was shot.
I disagree. Certainly he did lose a little something when he came back from injury and wasn't as explosive as he used to be, but I saw him make enough big plays to see that he had enough in the tank to contribute.
He didn't look shot to me. Putting him on the outside instead of the slot put him at a disadvantage. The outside is simply not his position.
I believe the team phased him out because they knew he wasn't going to be part of the future and wanted Roger Lewis Jr. to get those reps.
But coming back to Odell, I don't worry as much with this injury as Cruz because he's younger and more explosive than Cruz. It's a good sign he's already doing footwork drills and rehabbing 3 months post surgery.
Their WR corps was putrid. No one else brought him in and he hasn't sniffed an active roster since we let him go. His career is over. He's done.
Cruz' game was so reliant on his short burst to create space. Even if you just lose a fraction of that in this league, it can be the difference between being a starter and not being able to make a team.
Cruz wasn't phased out as much as he simply couldn't create the same separation he used to.
That’s amazing. I don’t think there is much to worry about here
If I recall correctly, there wasn't any measurable ligament, tendon, or muscle damage. It was primarily a bone break. That tends to have less of an effect on speed and quickness.

I completely disagree with you but thats not even my point. Insert any players name - Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Kenny Phillips, Chad Jones, David Wilson, etc etc etc - we’ve seen guys on video running and doing drills after injuries and then when they get to camp theyre just a step slower than everyone else or they get injured again. Odell will probably be find, or maybe he wont. I just know better than to think he looks good based off a twitter video. We wont really be able to form an opinion until he is in pads.

Cruz looked great on Twitter too.

Point remains - these videos dont really mean anything.
