I wonder if they lose this game and Bortles continues to be this awful if the Jaguars become even more desperate and we can get a premium pick from them for Eli.

I agree. Bortles laying an egg so far. Coughlin will not give Bortles the money he’s going to request. TC will be calling Giants regarding Eli

Eli could help Jax a lot. Bortles is getting time he just sucks. Eli is just what they need
Wow, big run there.

Yeah. And these are two playoff teams, by the way.
Bortles

throws more backfoot passes than Eli...without any pressure.
Nice baseball slide though.
Another good run by Bortles.
Dave in Hoboken : 1/7/2018 2:28 pm : link
That one wasn't as wide open, either.

The best case scenario is a renegotiated deal that converts his remaining money to salary that doesn't hit the Giants cap. I'd do that for. 7th round pick.

and maybe Eli Manning

Alex Smith could end up with one of them.
Did I See that right, Bortles is 6-14 for 33 yards.

He should just keep running - it's more effective than him throwing it.

Yep, he has more rushing yards than passing yards.
Did Bortles break...

8 on the Wonderlic?
The best part about this game
Bobby Humphrey's Earpad : 1/7/2018 2:34 pm : link
appears to have been the tailgate and Tony Romo's Shooter McGavin reference.
Bortles..
FatMan in Charlotte : 1/7/2018 2:36 pm : link
had a 28 on the Wonderlic, which is exactly the same as Drew Brees and Peyton Manning scored.
This game is a clear example of what
Dave on the UWS : 1/7/2018 2:36 pm : link
DG means when he says a team in “QB hell “. Neither of these teams will get much better with these two QBs starting.

Hopefully will have the 'private red phone' at his disposal, the one that Mara can't see....calls Coughlin,
'want to make a deal Tom for your favorite QB?'
Based on Davis Webb’s scouting
Dave on the UWS : 1/7/2018 2:42 pm : link
report it would be similar to what we are watching in Bortles. I want no part of that

Too bad that doesn't translate on the field all the time.

arcarsenal : 1/7/2018 2:46 pm : link
Deshaun Watson had the lowest wonderlic score of all the QB's in last year's class and is probably the best player of the bunch.

Totally meaningless.

^This. Bortles has been horrific. Boomer rightly buried him as such at halftime.
Christian: I'm not sure what you're suggesting with Eli's cap hit.

There's no way to "convert" unamortized bonus money that the Giants have already paid. So Eli's dead-cap hit of ~$12.4MM is inescapable. The savings for the Giants would simply come from not paying Eli additional money in 2018: his $5MM roster bonus in March, his $500K workout bonus over the summer, or his $10.5MM salary in the fall; $16MM in all.

Maybe that's what you meant all along. It just wasn't clear.

ThreePoints : 1/7/2018 3:08 pm : link
Why the like, 5 step drops for Bortles? How does Fournette only have 10 carries? Why not pound the rock?

Has the Buffalo defense really been dictating the game that much?
