he was the third overall pick. He will be a franchise QB/ all pro. For 15 years. They should be grateful they are not in the QB pergatory.

I hope that they have conviction for a guy strong enough to do that.
You don't get to pick this high that often, and if they think that one of these guys is "that" guy, then I'm all for it.

And refuse to budge. And that's fine, but I guess it's not worth discussing anymore.
There are basically two sides:
1. It's Eli
2. It's a total team failure
All we can do is watch it play out.
It’s funny that you say that people refuse to budge. Because YOU absolutely fit into that same category.
And your number 1 is a perfect example. No matter how many times people say “Eli is NOT the only problem, but he’s not the solution either”, you continuously claim that anyone that dare criticize Eli’s play is blaming all of the teams problems on him. Why can’t it be both? I have not once seen anyone on this board say that Eli is the only problem, yet you keep saying that people feel that way.
You’re right, you’ve made your mind up and won’t listen to reason. Just keep making things up and putting words into people’s mouths.
Haven't I said a million times that I'm fine with drafting a QB with our first pick?
So how am I not acknowledging the moving on?
But then there's this gem, which is my favorite:

Eli is not getting benched this season, barring injury. Book it.
There are no guarantees at the top of the draft, just because I said I'm fine with them taking a chance while they have it if there's a guy there that they have conviction for doesn't mean that there isn't a risk to bust.
There is a very high one, and I've been posting non stop about the dangers of spread QB's etc... while concurrently saying all that.
until the last 2 games when he threw 5 interceptions. So they basically played to win 10-3 today. Caught a huge break on the first & goal fade to Benjamin against the game’s best player. Pitts won’t let Ben throw 4 picks In the first half next week. Jacksonville will have to open it up some and that probably won’t go well.
So here’s to hoping that Coach gives the Giants a #3 for Eli. That would would out for all parties. TC: time to take a sentimental journey .
If there is a great prospect worthy of #2 overall, I am all for it. I don't see it, but I don't make that decision.
Bortles is the classic example of overdrafting a QB. Someone like Bortles is more likely to lead you to 5 years of mediocrity then having Cade Mcknown.
They are actually debating whether or not to pay him 18+ million next year. It's a debate. But Eli for 16 is gonna sink the ship.
Oh, and someone is gonna pay Capt. $100 million + Â
Bortles had an unimpressive game today, and a remarkably up and down first four years. But don't forget Eli Manning wasn't burning the league down at that stage in his career.

Are you mixing up Cade McNown with Josh McCown again?
It did work out well. The next coach if Eli were to stay, is not going to have to deal with being the person that benched Eli. So there won't be as much of a commotion whenever that day comes, or for whoever he is playing for at that time.
RE: He has more playoff wins in the last 4 years Â
than anyone with 0, who cares. Winning a playoff game while playing terribly is credit to the rest of the roster. There is no way Coughlin doesn’t take a strong look at upgrading QB, whether it be the draft or a trade.
Was there really a noticeable difference in the offense in the Game Eli was benched? What do you mean “that worked out well”? Are you suggesting that Geno was an epic failure and they had to scramble to make amends with Eli? Or do you think maybe it had more to do with the fans and media having an absolute meltdown?

Eli showed he can beat teams by passing and passing deep. Bortles can't get the ball downfield consistently. Concerning.
Forecast calls for a high of 20° and a low of 8° Sunday in PIT. Â
The good news is that JAX does not rely on the passing game to the same extent as most teams. The bad news is that Tomlin can jam the box and dare Bortles to throw deep in those conditions.
Correction. He has stunk for all 4 years.

hating on bortles today makes little/no sense.
It is also his first playoff game...

10 points! -Jimmy Googs
And that's likely the only one he's going to get lol
He is the GOAT. Blake has never lost a playoff game. No other player in the history of the NFL can claim they have won 100% of their playoff games.
See how easy it is?

That's depressing. If the Giants take a QB at 2, which is looking more and more likely, you can't say they haven't tried these last 6 years or so.
That I said I'd be fine with them taking a QB? Okay. Guilty... I guess?
Tomorrow you'll be calling me an Eli lover that wants him to play until he's 50 and ignoring all of those posts you just reposted.

What kind of cheese?
Jeff Hostetler looked similar, after taking over for Simms at the end of the regular season in 1990. So you never know.

Jax will look to improve that position next year.
Somebody wrote: "he just won a playoff game".
He didn't win it. Any QB and that team wins. He had very little to do with it.

Bortles threw for 80 yards, had 2 near picks, and the Jags scored 10 points.

Dammit. Of all people, Micky, you are right. You are never right.
But he did win the game, and you certainly can't take that part away.
