Because they used the words "highly exaggerated" in their statement. The use of the word "exaggerated" doesn't equate to 100% BS totally false nonsense. My guess is the author of the piece is on the right track but has overblown the supposed rift between the 3.
You'd almost think that they stood to profit in some way from having his name in the news with reference to the giants and his time here as defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells...
but maybe interesting to him if he see an opportunity and if he feels he has has his run in NE.
the fact he has 12 years with G-men, and 2 super bowls with them is a major factor.
he HAS to say he isn't interested, they are still in playoffs, and have more than a little chance they will end up in the champ game vs PITT, no reason to rock that boat.
He has a great history with the Giants, but I'm sure he sees New England as home now, where he has been for years and built a dynasty of his own making.

+1. Now the question is : how much of each part of the report is true, and is there one part that bothers him enough to want to take likely the last opportunity he will have and live his dream job?
And , after all, it is what I call the Secret Society Patriots...known to exaggerate and stretch rules and truth a bit IF forced to give out info(53 man injury report list during the playoffs).
RE: The dynasty could be HIS dynasty... Instead of the triumverate Â
of Him, Kraft and Brady... And come full circle here in NY...
Just wait... I'm not kidding.
uh, it is HIS dynasty. Pre Belichick:
* Kraft drove out Parcells, hired and fired Pete Carroll
* Brady was a skinny, unheralded 6th round draft pick who was molded by Belichick into the player he became. Sure, give Brady credit for having the inner drive and work ethic needed, but I don't think anyone believes that he would have done this anywhere else.
(and I am not jumping in saying he is coming here) but, would BB say anything else while in the middle of a playoff/SuperBowl run? Like he is going say, "Yeah, I am looking at the Giants job right now. I mean I need to get these pesky playoff games out of the way and then the Super Bowl but as soon as those are done I am heading to Jersey!"
... that he spoke with "someone who would know" in the Giants organization and that the Giants are not involved with BB at all. I thought that was stronger than Belichik's necessary denial while being in the midst of the playoffs.

Well, regardless as to whether all of this is true or not... isn't it illegal (NFL RULES) and considered tampering if the Giants were to be "involved" with BB? Why on earth would they admit to having any contact at all and why would they tell that moron Mad dog?

I suppose that's a fair point. It just sounded like a firm denial rather than a delection.

Slade - God bless you. Your posts are a must read. Can you do a Slade Daily?
Just wait... I'm not kidding.
For a guy with your track record, this is a pretty thin limb to go out on.

Dude, he said he wasn't kidding. I mean, that is as close to scouts honor as we are going to get.
Everything in that article could be true. Him not wanting to leave because of it doesn't make it lies.
