1. MLB to meet with the players union to discuss possible changes to improve the pace of play. Some suggestions are:
- Pitch clock (the minors currently have a 20 sec pitch clock)
- Limiting catcher trips to the mound in an inning

2. Bucs and Astros talking possible Gerrit Cole trade
its baseball. not a place for clocks imo

enforce the rule now of batter keeping 1 foot in the box. 1 catcher trip 2 the mound per inning is reasonable. umpire has discretion to hurry things up if particular player is being a turtle. speeding the game up 10 minutes is not going to be the difference between attention spans of today's youth. the no-pitch intentional walk is stupid imo. what does it save? 1 minute a game?
attention span

I've actually started looking at the attention span argument in baseball from a different perspective based on my own experiences. I think baseball can actually be conducive to the short attention span of younger viewers because you don't have to be absolutely glued in at all times. I know that sounds bizarre but if you're on your phone for a few minutes in a football game you may miss the biggest plays of the game. If you look at your phone in between pitches in baseball, you really don't miss much. It's easier to "passively" watch, IMO.

I do think there are things baseball can change as it relates to the length of games, but I also really think that one of the things they might be able to take advantage of is that is that the game IS different. It is slower, more methodical, about things averaging out, etc.

This is coming from someone who didn't grow up a huge fan of baseball but I've come to enjoy watching games and not needing to be locked in at all times. That may also but a result of my lack of burning fan hood for the sport, but just a thought.
The game brings to a halt on the 7th, 8th, 9th innings

I’m not even advocating for this, but limiting the number of pitcher changes per inning along with catcher visits and the only time any coach can come to the mound is to yank a pitcher. The biggest culprit is batters stepping out and doing their batting glove OCD nonsense and taking 5 practice swings in between pitches. If you step out of the box it should be a strike called against you. There are easy ways to speed up the pace of the game
