What about Ronnie Barnes and the training staff?

ron mexico : 1/8/2018 6:30 pm
Do they survive the purge?

Here is an old article on him

Ronnie Barnes has a job for life with this organization

for better or worse. I don't think our biggest issues are with immediate care or rehab for injured players, which is more within Barnes' wheelhouse.

The S&C staff will probably be all-new with the next head coach.
Ronnie Barnes is a Giant until he decides he isn’t

He’s practically a member of the Mara family

100% agree. To let people know what the Mara's think of Ronnie....
When Wellington was near the end, he kept calling for Ronnie to be at his side.

Training methods

Are largely standardized . Barnes, who is now at the VP level, has every certificate and accreditation possible, I am sure . You. don’t purge the doctors and trainers because 20 guys went on IR.

The Texans had 24, including 4 or 5 of their best players. Just don’t see it happening . Same with the strength and conditioning coach. Palmeri was lit up on this site. In ‘16 everyone was sure the Giants had found the right program. One poster mentioned “secret nutritional formulas.” There are no secrets in medical science and training regimen . There are perhaps varying points of emphasis and individually tailored restoration schedules . But that’s it . Everyone is privy to same reports and studies .

Tiki and Shockey!
For the most part...

training staffs transcend coaching changes. Every now and then, a coach will bring along a trainer, but it usually comes with a retirement. Andy reid brought Rick Burkholder with him from Philly and when he left, Chris Peduzzi was promoted from assistant to head trainer.

Jim Mauer, the Cowboys trainer has survived several coaching changes and Jerry Jones, as has the Broncos trainer Steve Antonopolus.

Rarely will a coach get rid of the training staff, and if he does without reason, it will be noted by the training community.
Tiki and Shockey visited Mara on his death bed

But Ronnie was with him the entire time. He called Coughlin to apologize for blowing off his team responsibilities. Coughlin told him he was "doing God's work."
