Chubb is the bell cow whereas Michel is the homerun hitter. I’m a Georgia fan. While I like Chubb I’ve always preferred Michel. The question I have for Michel in the NFL is whether he can hold up is the primary back.
running decisively, with authority, and explosion punishing defenders trying to bring him down ... and the other being very tentative, indecisive, and seemingly dead legged during the biggest game of his life.
I believe michel tore his ACL in HS but talent wise he is a stud Â
from 8th grade on he was the most hyped RB prospect since Frank Gore in south florida and that is saying something since he was only a year behind Dalvin Cook and a few behind Devonta Freeman and Duke Johnson. Definitely a lot of RB options in this draft.
RE: RE: From what I've seen Michel is clearly better than Chubb Â

Good question - there are so few true all around #1 backs now in the NFL, this is less of a concern IMO
I think back to last year's super bowl - both Atlanta and New England were utilizing multiple super athletic backs with great effect, and none of them fit the traditional work horse mold.
IMO Gallman and Darkwa are solid 2A/2B type backs, certainly can play their role, but a good OC could have a field day with Michel as a weapon
Whoever drafts Michel shouldn't look at him as a primary, workhorse type back - he's a guy you'll want to pair with another RB. I'd love Michel here though.

Imagine Titans let Murray walk and draft Michel. That would be a lethal combo.
It's a copycat league. Freeman/Coleman... Ingram/Kamara... Who will it be next year?
to former Giants player, but he really DOES have more than a few similarities in his game to Bradshaw. Very hard to bring down for his size, great vision, quickness and balance. Looks like a 3rd or 4th round pick.
But I'm not sure he offers very much different from Gallman. So the question is do the Giants want another RB similar to Gallman, or something different.
Chubb has more power, but I agree, seems to give up too easily on some plays, and may not be in great shape.
I'm still looking for a bigger, complimentary back to Gallman to do the dirty work.
Perhaps someone like Chunn of Troy, late. He's got a little Alstott in his game.
and his type of quality is in most drafts, is why you don’t waste the #2 pick on Barkley....
You could say that about any position that has a lot of talent in the draft. There is still a difference between the excellent players at the top, and the average-good players down the list.
Maybe we should just skip the 1st round entirely because we can get better value later on.
I'd like the Giants to draft Michel or Guice if they don't draft Â
Looks like a good blocker on third down also.

Think of it more like Kamara and Ingram.

Heck this might be the year of the running back!

Not really true.

Dallas is the only one of those teams that missed the playoffs.
You have to run the football and stop the run. Those are still two of the most major components of succeeding in the NFL.
Why? Is he uncomfortable?

Chunn Highlights - ( New Window )
I think there'll be a good enough back there in the fourth.
Rather go QB, OL, LB, then RB.
Thanks Pete. NYG needs to infuse some violence on offense.
Btw, I posted on BBI last April during the draft Kamara was on the NYG radar right behind Tomlinson. Would've been a solid pick too.
