Easy to make fun of the guy for one call. But Bevell is a highly-qualified NFL assistant, who has succeeded at multiple levels in multiple organizations - including as a major-college QB. He played a key role in shaping Rodgers and Wilson, and reviving Favre. I think he'll find another coordinator job long before our departed OC.
Eliot Wolf has in fact accepted the Browns offer to join their front office. He's agreed to a 4-year deal to work with GM John Dorsey Link - ( New Window )
the last 2 seasons instead of Wilson, I don’t think Seattle would have scored an offensive touchdown. The more I see of Wilson, the more convinced I’m becoming that he is the best player in the league.
Bevell would not be an improvement over Sully and McAdoo. He might be worse. Pettine , I think, helps GB. Capers Kapers were getting old.
Seattle had similar problems to us this year -- no OL or running game. The difference was Bevell had Graham, some half-decent WRs, and Russell Wilson pulling numerous games out of his butt. And they still couldn't make the playoffs.
Unless we expect to get another Russell Wilson on board, how could we expect Bevell to even equal that kind of "success" with the Giants?

Seattle's decimated defense gave up 110 points the last 4 games of the season...basically 28PPG.
Explain to me how Bevell was supposed to fix that?

Defensive issues aside, it's plain to see they've struggled for consistency on offense. How about when they scored 12 points in what was essentially a do-or-die game against the Cowboys a few weeks ago? Or when they scored 7 against the Rams the week before? Hell, even we scored more against the Rams. Or when they started the season with that awful 17-9 loss to the Packers. Winning that one sure would have been handy coming down the stretch.
Bevell did some nice things in Seattle when he had the power running game at his disposal, but like most average coaches, the results are erratic when he has subpar talent to work with. Guess what we got here in NY? There's a reason Seattle fans look at him about as fondly as we look at McAdoo.

To be fair, Graham was still recovering from an injury when he got to Seattle in 2015.
Over the last two seasons, Graham has been targeted over 190X and has pulled in 16 TDs. And that's with the worst oline on the planet...
Lol
