Dumb question.. do Giants have a shave policy like Yankees?

yankeeslover : 1/10/2018 12:28 pm
I know, stupid question.. but with Patricia being in the fold, just wondering out loud if the Giants have a policy like the Yankees do and if Patricia is forced to shave that beard of his. Would be different having a head coach with that beard and backwards cap manning the sidelines... I think would be cool...
For coaches?

McAdoofus liked rocking that porn stache for a while.

Collins has a beard
DennyInDenville : 1/10/2018 12:51 pm : link
So does DRC

But it is strange with all the beirds going around the Giants don't have any..

You might be onto something..

Maybe it's just frowned upon?

Zero scrubs rock beards on this team... very strange.

Sounds like we do have some type of rule for sure
UH, Beckham...

How about a DreadLock or long hair policy?!
Simms11 : 1/10/2018 1:15 pm : link
I don't think so by the looks of it. Who cares if he has a beard?! If he can motivate, manage and get this team back to the playoffs. I wouldn't care if he wore a wig.

FatMan in Charlotte : 1/10/2018 1:49 pm : link
yes. The Yanks still have requirements regarding acceptable facial hair.

Yes they do.

The Yankees allow mustaches but not fu-manchu types. However, that wasn't always the policy because both Thurman Munson and Goose Gossage had fu manchus.

Kerry Collins sometimes had a beard as a Giant. A whole lot of guys have. They clearly have no such policy.

god they don't. That shitty Yankee rule may be the worst one in sports.

Eh, yes and no. It goes too far - there's nothing wrong with a neatly trimmed beard. I'd rather my team not looked like they crawled out of a dumpster, though, like many of the Sawx do.
IMO, the most memorable facial hair this season...
Dan in the Springs : 1/10/2018 4:37 pm : link
was Ellison. His bushy beard was reminiscent of Patricia's, at least from how it stuck out all around his chinstrap.
Long hair in Football

I don't understand why some guys want their hair to hang out the back of their helmets like a pony tail. My fear is that a defensive player will yank you down by the hair...would this be a horse collar tackle and a penalty?

What I remember is that it is not a penalty to tackle by the hair. If I get a chance I'll check the rulebook to confirm, but iirc as of a couple years back it was still legal to tackle that way.

I believe the hair is considered part of the uniform or jersey- so no, just as you can take a guy down by the jersey, you can take him down by the hair. You still couldn't yank them straight down from behind, just like you can't with the jersey as that would be penalized as a horse collar tackle, tho.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm not 100% on that.
