platoon, Lagares the starter

So how does this work when Conforto is healthy?

We have 3 COFer's and only 2 places to play them

Good question but they have at least 1 month to figure it out aka you know someone will be hurt lol

numbers would suggest a straight platoon would be ideal so this is kind of an odd decision unless of course their internal metrics say "Nimmo can't play CF" but they are okay with other crap defense so...

**SHOCKER** @Mets do not have a top 10 RHP or LHP prospect per @MLBPipeline #Mets
I really hope that Jay Bruce

starts working at 1B from day-one of spring training. I'd like the signing a whole lot more if Bruce can be a 1B/OF for us, rather than a straight up OF.

If they are down on Smith that’s fine, he was never a can’t miss prospect, but if that’s the case they should have dealt him to fill another hole at some point. Wasting him away in no mans land while playing a retread like Gonzo doesn’t accomplish anything for anyone. It’s mind boggling that of all the toiling high draft picks and guys who can’t get out of their own way due to injuries Fulmer is the guy who broke out and overcame the injury bug.

When you take the long view, it's not mind boggling. Leaving the Mets was the best thing for Justin Turner and Daniel Murphy, too.
