Shurmur Favorite to be Cardinals Coach

Per PFT
We should probably stop paying

Attention to PFT. They said Schwartz was the favorite. He doesn't even have an interview with us.

They said Patricia to the Lions was a done deal. That doesn't seem to be the case either.

It wasn’t PFT my apologies it was a Cardinals Beat Writer. Being reported by PFT as a report
Would be a good hire

Wish the Giants would go in that direction. Wilks is No. 2 for the Cards.

Oh ok

Well I'm sure they're more reliable then PFT.
I like Shurmer, but

I'm not sure he is the personality they are looking for.

I still think Wilks is very much in contention for the Giants job. Just a hunch.

I find it curious that no one has heard anything about McDaniels recently. I think there were rumblings on Sun/Mon that he preferred the Colts, but rumors that he will go to Tennessee (if the rumors that once the Titans lose and Mularky is fired are true). I can't recall a coaching search (league wide) in recent memory that has been so back and forth and nebulous. Not sure what reports to believe at the moment.
I don't get this whole "personality" thing

Do fans think rah-rah coaching is going to make a difference? Do they want a stand up comic? Coaches from Tom Landry to Doug Pederson have had bland personalities and have won.
Good. I want MP anyway.

.
They like Bettcher
Peppers : 1/11/2018 9:47 am : link
So I can believe Shurmur is the guy. Plus they have a need at QB and he’ll have an option from 2 of the 3 Vikings guys.
Unless there is something larger going on with BB
Chris684 : 1/11/2018 9:51 am : link
which I highly doubt, but am still dreaming of, I think we're looking at Wilks or Patricia and I really like that.

I prefer Wilks but Patricia is exciting as well. Both come from successful programs and successful defenses. I bet you will see some impact linebackers in here early and often.

I'll take the unknown variable as a HC over the bad experience as a HC any day.

If it is Wilks, Norv Turner running the offense would have been nice but maybe Defilipo or Pep Hamilton would be in play. If Patricia, I'd like to see Daboll brought in.

True re: PFT.

However, Gil Brandt - whom I trust a lot more — also said to look for Shurmer to Cards as well.

I'm having the same thoughts about Shurmur and why I think Wilks is still in the mix.
